Apple and Google are not alone in supporting the Left. Most of Hollywood and news corps do. They feel safer with the Left than with Trump.

Goes to that massive companies that would benefit most from Trump's Pandering to the 1% and Tax deals for corporations while realise how awful he is.

You have a gameshow host as you president and that's actually the nicest thing I could say about him

But don't people who want political news just go directly to their preferred source/paper/TV channel that validates their existing opinions?
Who says Apple isn't gonna validate a certain group's political opinions as well?

Gonna go ahead and just block that topic from my news.

why? Isn’t this of vital importance to voters?
Being from a country at a time where people were murdered because they voted. It dismays me how US citizens shirk voting.....
You live in a country where it changes political party without so much as a shot being fired.
Maybe you just don’t know what you have?

From the WSJ:

From the Political ad spending will total $9.9 billion in 2020, according to the latest U.S. advertising forecast fromWPP PLC’s ad-buying unit GroupM. That would be up from $8.7 billion in 2018, when midterm congressional elections were held, and from $6.3 billion in 2016, when President Trump was elected."
follow the money - the "news" industry has a self serving interest to bid one party off against the other... And one candidate against another - hence Yang, Gabbard et all get no airtime, Sanders is pushed behind Joe because he has the bug bucks (and is less likely to implement campaign finance reform)- and watch has Hillary will swoop in to usurp the "democratic" choice.

lovely process, this democracy.

It's pretty telling that the people who think everything is biased are the same people who still think Clinton will somehow be the nominee.

Just because you think something isn’t biased doesn’t make it so.

Thinking everything is biased is just an excuse to convince yourself that you're right and everything else is wrong.

Except it factually is. Just look at the impeachment coverage. Not a fan of the President. I didn't and won't be getting my vote, but if you don't think the coverage was bias you need to check yourself.
Coverage is biased on both sides. Fox News coverage has been just to deny everything, even when confronted with the facts.

Our politics is in the state it is in because of us voters. Plain and simple.

1: Cook/Apple will support whoever lines their pockets. Apple is a money machine, nothing more. Most of the time, the machine spits out goods and services I think are worthy of my hard grafted coin, and I purchase them.

2: How does this result in me getting a decent in the box charger for my next iPhone?

Apple likes to keep surfing this wave of "think different" and out of the box-ism that Jobs and Woz brought to the table many moons ago. What's worth doing is surely worth doing for money, but the love of it died with Jobs. There's no altruism, or over arching concern for one's fellow man in this corporation. It's all cash. Which is fine. Just remember, Apple isn't concerned with YOUR cause celeb. They're concerned with how much more money they can make by supporting your cause.

Just keep maing stuff that I like and that works, and you can tell me to vote for Kodos. I really don't give a rats maximus.

Remember. Corporations are PEOPLE.

Ofc you can. Just call both parties and asked them which 10 news outlets they want to be included in the coverage and then include these outlets. Nobody can blame you then for censorship or lack of objectivity when the political parties themself made the election.

And what if the parties themselves don't represent the interests of their actual candidates? The NYT's "The Daily" podcast last week described exactly how listening to party insiders in 2016 was part of their reason they got the election wrong. You can hear the podcast here.

Exactly why they are doing it. Seek information, and decide for yourself.
Or...just let people on Facebook tell you what to think.

Reading curated articles is not seeking information - it is reading pre-selected articles presented by a few individuals.

There more than just a few sources. Unless you consider Facebook a source of news. :D Or, one of those basement "news" sites.

I'm a Canadian customer and I would very much like to access that tab. It doesn't work, even though I use iOS 13.3.1 and macOS 10.15.3.
I wish that we had this in the UK too...

Reading curated articles is an interesting exercise: we know who is doing the curating, and are interested to observe what they are selecting for us.

You're not wrong, they are all garbage. I'll stick with AP and Reuters for the most part and when I'm feeling biases ill give Dailywire a read lol.

As an Independent I would hope Apple would try to keep their bias out of this. Right leaning folks deserve fair coverage just like the Left leaning folks. Humans will never completely agree on everything so just be respectful about it. If people like Bernie that’s great, if people like Trump that’s great. Let them be.

How do I stop Apple news from polluting my notifications screen?
Three ways, you can go into the application and make adjustments to what you follow. You can go to the settings application and remove notifications for "news". And finally.. if those 2 things are still allowing to much to go though. Delete the application, go to the app store and redownload it. Then set it up from scratch.

I really wish News+ was a good app. Its just terribly clunky, especially on Mac (where I am most likely to use it). I even have a 3 month trial I just haven't used it more than 20min in the past few months.

I block Fox News in Apple News for the obvious reason. Hopefully it will work in the special coverage as well.

I like this. What people don’t understand is bias is for you to decide. What Apple is doing, is providing you with all the information available. It’s up to the individual to use their brain to think for themselves.

No outlet will ever be “bias” free. That’s not how information works. Apple even has a guide on misinformation so that you can learn how to think for yourself.

half of the folks, thinks apple's in the tank for trump, half think apple is in the tank for democrats. 100% don't knw what the **** they are talking about.

Anyone think that maybe the media bias is fair because the president does lots of bad things that is setting a bad precedent for future presidents, including liberal ones? This is just going to blow up in all of our faces multiple times moving forward. It's bad news no matter what "side" you're on.

Anyway, the Chiefs won the Super Bowl and Trump will lose the election so overall 2020 is looking pretty great aside from the Coronavirus now that World War III seems to be on the back burner.

Lol. Apple News will skew to the left this election cycle and it will be challenging to find some right leaning or center right leaning news of import on the app. To left tilting corporations like Apple, the Democrats are always on the side of the angels and if there is conservative coverage, it will just be pieces caricaturing the Republican Party as being the party of Hitler, or evil, or whatever. It's a joke.

Thank God for a free and open internet. I mean, as long as Liz Warren doesn't become president, as any coverage she doesn't agree with will land you in a gulag.

The News app is pretty though.

The adjective form of the word bias is biased.

Shut the fūck up.
Dude, who pissed in your cereal this morning? Newsflash...insulting people and talking to them like you are...is the fastest way to turn them against you. You straight up invalidate any "point" you may have the second you start being an ass. Grow up, keyboard warrior.
