But I'm guessing that if you read that you've probably already done it!

No, I didn't know that. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I frustratingly tried adding my favorite blogs through the app itself with no luck. After searching the web for "iOS 9 News" and getting nowhere - think of how many articles comeback with that search! - I was ready to file it away like most of the gimmick apps Apple has tacked on the last few years.

I am very much looking forward to using the app. Once it releases in the UK

The worst thing for Apple news app, there is no sync between devices. If i favorite a new item or mark it for later it wont show up on my iPad. i have to setup again on iPad. I think you expect News app from Apple to have sync when their other apps sync. Really annoying and made me go back to feedly and pocket for later articles where i have sync and same stuff everywhere.

Why would you expect this? When it comes to Sync Apple is the worst.

Deleting... It's better to choose specific channels than a generic category if you want to narrow down the news you want.

Aren't you whining right now?

As for Apple News, I don't like that they get *exclusive* content. Wasn't the point of the app to access information more easily?
More easily for those smart enough to use an Apple device. There are always benefits for loyalty. Like being able to stream every song ever purchased on all my Apple devices from the cloud for over two years before Apple Music was released. They quietly turned on the feature and barely mentioned it later.

Apple had an ugly icon contest and this one won.

Honestly, I don't know why they have to force everything into a rounded square. Don't agree with that design decision. Let a shape be a natural shape within that space. Typing that on a site that forces all our avatars into circles :rolleyes:o_O

Because thats how they potray themselves, Take a picture it will come on your ipad and mac, write a note and it will show up everywhere, same with reminders, calendar, mail, safari. It was reasonable to expect that your subscriptions, favorites and Later articles are synced across devices. I guess that will come with iOS 10. :p

If it's going to be a "smart" news app, I need a way to provide feedback about articles I don't like. For instance, because of my location it's giving me a bunch of articles about the University of Maryland, which I could not care less about, cluttering up an otherwise good feed. In 5 minutes of stumbling around, I have yet to see a way to say "I don't want this ".

I love it personally.

Got the channels the way I wanted on my iPhone. Fired it up on the iPad, and everything was the same except better on the bigger screen. It's also simpler and more approachable to me than something like Flipboard, which I'm pleasantly surprised by considering how much they botched Apple Music.

The only thing that I don't like as of now if sometimes when you tap an article, it'll hardly give you any of the story, most notably for me in Popular Mechanics and Time. If you have an heading describing 10 things I should bring with me on my next hiking trip, I want to be able to read more than one of those things when I tap the article. At least give me a link to the full article. Most do, and some even show the full article, but Time and Popular Mechanics are the ones I've spotted so far where you're just wondering what those other items were. I'm sure there are others.

That being said, it's still a great app. Just needs some tweaks here and there.

Articles that don't show the whole story are ones not publishing specifically for News, it's just a generic RSS feed. Unless you're reading really old Popular Mechanics articles they are publishing for News, shouldn't be seeing any partial articles with links.

It's not really news if publishing it 4 days late is okay.

We've had a 24 hour news cycle since the 1800s when we first had transatlantic telegraph lines laid... taking 4 days is half way back to having a messenger ship deliver the news (~10 days).
With general "news" I agree with you, but these are all monthly magazines with more in-depth stories that have a longer shelf-life.

So wait, there are supposed to be partial articles on Apple News app where the only way you can finish it is to run a search on the website where it was published?

"Smart enough" from Apple perspective. "Smart" is chosing the device that fits your needs, not blindly choosing Apple because it's said to be good (the iPhone IS the device that fits a lot of people needs) :p

I'm starting to wonder how Apple means to monetize Apple News. If this is to get featured / exclusive articles because they were paid for, meh.

Hmmm, was wondering why AppleNews never installed on either of my devices. Thought it was region specific or having A7 chips in both weren't new enough. Now I know. Looking forward to checking it out! :D

How did you jump to that? The News app uses a regular RSS feed for sites that don't specifically publish for News. How much of the article that shows up depends on how the site sets their RSS feed up. Once you get to the end of what shows up in the News app if you keep swiping up it automatically loads the full article webpage.

I currently use Paper (yes the Facebook app) but I am hoping Apple News will eventually replace it. I like news, but I only want to see certain things. It's not bad for just coming out, but needs more sources.

Kind of surprised it's not available in the UK, or AUS. Is it just America for now?
Yes this is the case even though they stated otherwise, but there is a way around it, go to settings s change the region to US, a now you got it with Apple Pay, I heard about this yesterday and works like a charm
