That's why I specifically listed prices above and below $500. There's something for everyone. You can even go to other brands and get good performance for under $100. Even those "cheap" ones are much, much better than anything Beats has to offer. Truth is, Apple could buy any of these companies and roll out a great line of headphones with something for everyone (let's say $50 to $3000).Apple is in the business of selling products that a vast majority or people are interested in. The amount of people wanting to buy $500+ headphones and amps is likely extremely small. Beats are more than enough for the average person.
Beats got better over the time, but that doesn't really matter since the bar is so low. Instead of BeatsX you could buy a cheap Westone W series in a similar price range and get something much better. Instead of Studio/Pro you could get a much better Sony MX1000 in a similar or cheaper price range.I knew they were crap before…but wasn't Apple supposed to "up the quality"? Did they?
Youre comparing beats to EarPods though. The standards are set pretty low already... but regardless the sound quality, the durability seems to be trash. You can read many complaints about it on apples website.
And that's part of the problem. Noise cancelling and good audio quality don't mix very well. Usually it's one or the other. If it's a must have for you, I think Bose Q35 have the best noise cancelling, Sony XM 1000 worse noise cancelling but much better audio quality. Pick your poison. I ended up buying the Sony for making audio/video calls while in the office and blocking some noise from annoying students whenever I have my office doors open or the windows to the campus. Works for what I bought them. I listened to music with them a couple of times and if it's just for listening to music, it's not something I'd buy. Better choices out there, but not noise cancelling and without microphone.the Beats sounded best and had the best noise canceling of any of the headphones I tried.
BeatsX are usually available under $100 new and around $60ish refurbished. I am a headphone junkie and feel they are worth it at those prices.
Has Beats ever made into a keynote post acquisition? I seem to remember last time everything was updated immediately after the keynote.
Go feed your cognitive dissonance somewhere else. Any product sennheiser spits out for 129 bucks is miles better than any Beats will ever beAn opinion with nothing to back it up.
Please, list some good alternatives that you prefer.
I think your join date explains it all though. Timing is everything.
I am guessing Beats does a solid business with Android handset users, as well, most of whom use micro-USB for handset power, so this might be why Apple has not switched.
If Apple moves to USB-C as a standard, I believe it will be with the 2019 iPhones and iPads (not the 2018 iPad Pros) so that would also be the time to launch Apple's own headphones with USB-C along with a Beats update to USB-C and USB-C AirPods cases. Just update the whole lot from Lightning to USB-C in one go.
Hey, I like my Bose QC II. I just bought them and wore them for 5 hours on a flight...they did a great job and were comfortable.Way too many good headphones out there that are better and cheaper than Beats. Can’t stand my BeatsX, no auto shutoff and they do not tell me charge left. Hate to admit it, but Bose offers better stuff.
Fine by me, they're garbage headphones for the money you spend.
I was holding out for the Apple-branded Headphones, but with the rumors pushing it to 2019 and Amazon having a 50% off sale, I picked up a Studio3 (in Porcelain Rose) and have been quite satisfied.
Powerbeats are excellent headphones for their intended purpose.Beats are a disservice to Apple. The sound is atrocious, the price tags are heinous. The AirPods are the same thing, they sound like absolute garbage and offer $10 sound in a $129 package.
