Presumably any new service or feature has to be server-side, unless some hidden feature in iTunes 10.1 become self-aware tomorrow (and destroys us all).

So something content related? A new pricing model that resets the bar for digital downloads/rentals?

I'm starting to forget about the iPad introduction already, so for me to not forget any day is saying a lot.

Pandora clone.

You heard it here first.

That, and they'll rename iTunes to some new name befitting its role as gatekeeper to the {app, book, music, movie} store.

No, way too early. We don't even have AirPlay capable Apple TV release.

Apps on Apple TV will come next September, a year after the ATV 2 was introduced.

Great point. Given Apple's app history it's quite likely that Apple will release an app capable version of iOS and load it with Apple produced applications first. Then, at a later date, they'll open up development of ATV apps to third party devs. That's what happened with the iPhone.

"Another Day" was actually written and previewed during The Beatles' Let It Be Sessions in 1969.

I wonder if there is a never-before-seen/heard "Let It Be" session featuring the all the Beatles performing "Another Day." It might constitute a new, previously unknown Beatles song.... and a dramatic way to launch the Beatles on iTunes.

Obviously, I'm pulling that theory completely out of my arse.

There are now Itunes links on Soundhound for Beatles songs. Also, "Just another day" is a McCartney song. Ladies and gentlemen.....THE BEATLES!!

That's the most likely suggestion I've seen so far.

OSX app store? It has nothing to do with iTunes, it's already announced (and they're absolutely not releasing it tomorrow), and since it is on the front page of the iTunes store, they are promoting it to windows users as well. One of the least likely possibilities, and there have been some doozies.

I completely disagree, as I outlined earlier in the thread. The reason Beatles on iTunes would be a BIG deal is due to the context. Apple and Apple Music have a long adversarial history. If The Beatles make it to iTunes that will indicate the end of a decades long dispute between the two companies.

And I am saying that the age-long dispute between "Apple the computer company" and "Apple the music label" is utterly irrelevant and inconsequential to 99.9% of the people out there. I love Beatles music, but I could give a hoot about their dispute and whether it ever gets "resolved" (whatever that even means today).

Plus, if you think that The Beatles are irrelevant in the digital or any other realm you're dead wrong. The Beatles are still arguably the most popular rock band of all time

Yes, the fact that they refuse to release their music in digital format in 2010 has made their stance largely irrelevant. Anyone who has remote interest in Beatles music have either burned their CDs or downloaded it via torrents at this point.

Yeah, great point. It didn't cross my mind until I made the post. I rescind my comment. OSX store isn't iTunes related so that guess is clearly wrong.

Apple is purchasing all the content from NBC and giving it away for free. They will also be offering $1 per year cable and internet access in all locations served by Comcast.

Have a nice day.

I just can't believe that htey'll take away the MacBook Air and all the other front page stuff just to announce the beatles on itunes.

Anyone who likes the beatles already ripped their CD's to iTunes already.

I have a feeling that if it was a Beatles announcement it wouldn't be teased the day before. It would be tomorrow you open up Apple.com or iTunes and it would say "The Beatles: Now on iTunes". Same thing with 90 second previews. In fact I'd say that 90 second previews would only say that in iTunes itself.

While it does seem to hint at the Beatles, this actually makes a lot of sense and would be more noteworthy.

iTunes Streaming... not Spotify, more like Pandora, with the resources they got in the Lala aquisition. With a more sophisticated iTunes tagging/purchasing.
