I'm proper sycked about tomorrow! Aluminum macbooks mmmm. :D

A few questions
If they are available to buy straight away (online) will there be limited
availability or will everyone be able to get one easily?
Also does anyone have any idea of the event time (BST)

What we expect to see:

• Macbook Pro - new keyboard, overhauled case design, refined (major inspiration from Macbook Air), SSD options, magnetic latch, reconfigured ports, black bezel around the screen, possible aspect ratio changes, possible increased multi-touch gestures, possible larger trackpad

• Macbook - overhauled case design, move to aluminum, possible addition of multi-touch gestures to trackpad, possible larger trackpad, reconfigured ports, general attempt at a more high-end feel

• Macbook Air - briefly mentioned, spec updates, overall performance increase, storage boosts, possible but unlikely case refinements, possible price reduction

Across the board:

• Aggressive price points
• Unified look across entire notebook line (Aluminum)
• Standardization of parts for easier production
• LED’s

Probable:

• Inclusion of NVIDIA chipsets, specifically targeted towards reduced power consumption
• Ramp up of LED inclusion/production

Not Likely:

• Tablet notebook, multi-touch netbook
• Blu-Ray integration
• multi-touch glass trackpad
• re-introduction of 12″ G4 powerbook (comparable model)
• unification of entire notebook line (as in calling them all macbook’s and dropping the “pro”)
• LED keyboard
they will not drop the pro look at the front page directions for airport card in mb and mbp

Does anyone remember the article that posted a while back that stated Apple would be releasing something that was "sick", "priced to sell" and would "sell like hot cakes" ??? Could Tuesday be what it was all about?

Mac Soda Makes Things Up

"Mac Soda has heard that iLife ’09 and iWork ’09 are going to be announced this Tuesday at the MacBook event. Similar to last year, when Steve introduced the iMac, and then branched off into the iLife and iWork updates, Steve is expected to do the same thing this year, announcing the iLife/iWork update with the introduction of the new laptops."

This is complete ********. No new versions of iLife or iWork tomorrow. -- John Gruber

Man I can't wait!

I'm crossing my fingers for the Air! If the update happens, maybe I will purchase at around the end of the year!

Tomorrow is going to be a great day everyone!

:D

Are you working for Apple... ?

You're so good to me :D

First come first serve.

Wild Speculation

We're not getting Cinema Displays and we're not going to see a new tablet/touch mac. It's just not going to happen.

All of the updates are going to be relatively mainstream and keep in line with fundamental pushes in the notebook line. Nothing crazy and out of the ordinary.

As long as the macbook is being updated to aluminium i'm buying... I've waited all summer for my conversion from pc to mac!

My question is, what's usally the quickest way of getting one after the keynote?

Do I order online or buy in store?

I guess ordering online will take over a week right?

But if I buy in store I'll only be able to get the pre-configured models?

UK stores are unlikely to have any in store tomorrow as the keynote speach will probably finish after shops shut here I'm guessing.

Only tomorrow knows, but I'm hungry for my first mac!

I find it hard to believe that Apple will put blue ray in the portable line before desktops but not impossible I guess.

oh man, I have a dentist appt tomorrow and will be in the chair at this time... arg, I will have to catch the wrap-up 3 hrs after everyone when I am back home.

Well my hopes are:

1. tablet / Dock
2. Some sort of dock for current macbooks.
3. lower price points as I have several friends needing a mac, but $1000 is out of their price range.

Other than that - I have all I need at the moment...

ok, so new ipods in Sept.
New notebooks in October
something for Christmas.

Just leave one thing? What are they going to blow us out of the water with in January....

these media events always leave a disappointing "one more thing" that never came. so they gotta be holding something for macworld:

HDTV with apple TV and blu-ray - $2000 ?
