I'm amazed how many people agree with this censorship. You people should move to China, where the government also decides what you should and should not see.

Oh well. For me it's another reason not to buy an iPad. I want to decide what software I want to run on my device, not Emperor Steve.

Good decision Apple. I've submitted a couple of complaints myself regarding these apps. They should not be advertised on the app store.

How about games where you inflict serious harm on others?

Which is worse; Shooting people, or playing with boobs?

About time. I'm sick of seeing 90% of content being iTits, or iBoobs, or iWobbly Bits, etc... Next, get rid of all the useless lighters, strobes and iFart apps.

Easy Solution

Apple wants to have default access be wholesome. Fine. Have an opt-in area where an adult has to approve access for the account and a variety of content including some apps and R rated movies become accessible.

I presume Apple is filtering R rated movies as well as sexually suggestive apps? No? Hypocracy?

Rocketman

Bah! I hate reactionary crap like this. While I'm not really interested in such apps, wouldn't Apple's time be better spent making sure they don't appear for users with adult-content disabled, than getting rid of these things?

I expect they'll do a turn-around like last time when they do eventually implement a feature to properly control content, I just hate that this nonsense comes first when it's just a big waste of everyone's time!

I think this is fantastic. Apple has every right to control the quality of the product they promote and sell.

People can get all the wanker, spanker porn on the internet. We don't need this garbage in the App Store.

Steve

Really? And what would you say if Steve decides that all of your favorite apps you installed on your device are garbage as well, huh? What if he pulled those?

In my opinion, 90 percent of the applications in the app store is useless crap coded together in five minutes. iFart, iStink, iDrinkBeer... If Steve pulled all of those from the store, the number of apps would not be so impressive anymore.

Thanks Apple. You just made up my mind for me. My next phone will be Android. It's not that I like these apps, I've never downloaded one, but I'm not going to support your platform of censorship and deciding what's best for me.

Apple is like an old, greedy and puritan lady. They want protect people from the "immoral boobs". Should we go to confession after seeing some boobs?

I imagine that lottery apps are perfectly correct to Apple's high moral standards even if some people will have some serious problems. It's for the greater good:rolleyes:

Americans have issues with sex, and sexual repression. Why we have the highest incidents of rapes,etc..

Violence is very accepted. Parents are okay sending thier 14 yearold kids to see Saw IV but god forbid a movie shows 3 seconds of tit, you would see the same parents line up to complain to the FCC.

After blocking this, and then that, Apple will soon try to block our brains and try to turn us into dribbling religiously possessed droids who cant see, feel, experience, enjoy anything that it isn't blessed by Steve...

Enough of bullcrap already! >_<

Enough of bullcrap, all right--like the idea that blocking apps appealing primarily to 9th/10th graders will somehow impact our lives.

It's inexcusable to sell violent games and ban boobs. Plain and simple.

Apple what is your response to the dozens of people who have already asked, "Why can't you get off you lazy *** and create a show mature content toggle?"

Agree, and that is a failure of humanity.

it should have ratings or something I know I would not want my kids looking on the app store and seeing sex apps.....its kind of over the top as of late..

I'm tired of all the social media apps... Who cares what you are doing... it's clutter and useless to me. I so hope Apple can get rid of these.

It's the principle of the thing. If I want to spend my money on a boob app, why should Apple stop me? I'm a grown adult, and it's my money.

And what's worse is the fact that Apple is pulling these apps but Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto and other similar games remain. Boobs? Bad. Killing cops? Good, as long as the cop is fully clothed.

Good, there was a lot tasteless apps.

I think the developer messed up by suggesting, with the app name, that boobs might be the most amusing thing to make wiggle. Not even bare boobs were necessary to become amusing.

So, Apple didn't ban something pornographic but something that COULD become a bit rude IF the user added certain of their own photos to the app. That's like banning Sharpie® pens because you can stick them in body orfices.

You were close to getting it right, then apparently lost your concentration. It wasn't about how the app COULD be used, but about how it was intended to be used as evidenced by the title. Get rid of the title, and any limitations on where the distortion occurs, and there wouldn't have been a problem.

Here is the thing -- Apple isn't the gov't, and Steve isn't the Emperor of the U.S. so your analogy fails. The iTMS is Apple's property, and as such, it's Apple's right to choose what material it will sell. It's called property rights, something that doesn't exist in China. And the product Apple refuses to sell can be sold by another company, if that company so chooses. That is how business works. (Assuming the product is a legal one).

First they came for my jiggly boobs, and I did not speak out, because jiggly boobs are juvenile.

Then they came for the icons, because they resembled Apple's; the healthcare app, because it was political; P2P apps or front ends, because they might be used for piracy; lame apps, because of limited utility; diagnostic apps, just because; podcasting and music apps and google voice, because that's Apple's turf; the whole jailbroken world, because personalization=brings down the cell network; and a million other apps (besides web browsers) because they let you access the 90% of the internet that is porn.
And I did not speak out because hey, it's Apple's device, they can do what they want with it.

And then they threw the killswitch on "my" device -- but by then, it was too late to post a bitchy tweet about it.

Except that there's about zero similarity between monitoring what appears in the app store that apple created, maintains, and owns, and remotely controlling or disabling hardware you paid for. there is not a slippery slope or really any kind of slope between rejecting certain app types and using a "kill switch" on users devices.

My real question is who was buying this crap? If you want to see naked women (or men, for that matter) on your iphone, that's easily done - and you can even have real nudity if you want.

Gotta bash China at every opportunity...

Personally I think Apple should allow "porn" apps, maybe make them have their own app-store category though, and block it for <17's.

So it's better to ban this, and allow first person shooting games???
Such an American thing to do. Allow extreme violence and killing - but don't ever show anyone any nipples whatever you do!

so true ..

I think that is a ridiculous move on Apples part .. yet another one in quite a series lately ..
