I have the Apple One premier subscription. I find it to be great. And sharing it with up to six family members makes it worth it. I just buy an Apple gift card once a year and the service is all paid for.
Exactly. People forget that many, if not all, Apple subscriptions are family sharing so 4 or 5 people for just ONE subscription.

Waiting for Apple Music Classic. I hope it’ll be included in Apple One Premium. 😅

Services is a super fast growing sector but I think at some point there will be a revolt about all these monthly subscriptions people are paying for. At some point people will question why everything is a subscription--music, video, news, hardware, etc.

Apple Music is for the family across devices. Amazing. Fitness is tied to one Apple ID. We quit it as soon as that was clear. I hope some day they fix that.

“When you subscribe to Apple Fitness+ or Apple One Premier, you can use Family Sharing to share your subscription with up to five other family members.”

Yes, my mom, my wife, and I all subscribe to Apple services. We pay the base iCloud storage rate (what is it? $2 a month?) and that's it.

The fact that they won't provide data on subscribers by service would suggest to me that most of their "subscribers" are lumped into these extremely low-tier categories.

That said, I must say I really underestimated some of their services. For All Mankind and Foundation are just outstanding programming. Not enough to justify a year-round subscription, but great in their own right.

Apple News on the other hand........

I suppose it makes sense that they don’t break down the amount of subscribers per service; people would get confused and wonder if they’re referring to Apple TV, Apple TV+ or the Apple TV hardware

Financial subservience is the all the rage these days. Everywhere you look, everyone just can't seem to sell off the things they own for the very same things that they don't own... for a monthly fee, to boot.

No one intentionally has a paid Apple News subscription
I had one before Apple One existed. I like to have a one stop app for news and magazines. Only bummer is the number of ads there. For the price of the service, they should remove as many as possible for paying subscribers

People have to stop thinking their needs and preferences are the same elsewhere. You have the right to dislike News+, but I do like it and I know many others are.

only sub i have is iCloud+ for a little extra storage. 5GB on free is a joke so i'm paying for 50GB. it's only 79p/month so i don't even notice it coming out my bank but that's not the point...

i'd love to join Apple Music but until they offer a proper way to listen on Windows i'll stick with Spotify. and NO itunes or a web player isn't a proper solution. I had to use Apple Music Cider but even that is a buggy mess (and devs are disgusting)

the rest i'm not really interested in though except maybe Apple TV. haven't bothered using my free trial yet but have watched a couple free episodes of Severance, That football show, and that news thing with Jennifer Anniston and Steve Carrell.

I wish they would improve Apple Music and Apple Arcade. They are not up to the usual high Apple standards.

We subscribe to iCloud in our house because we all use iPhones and iPads. None of us use Apple Music, Apple TV+ or Arcade though. We had the tv because it was free for a year but we thought it lacked the decent content you get on other platforms. I can’t say I’m compelled to subscribe to the other Apple services because there are cheaper alternatives.

Seriously? You really believe that's the extent of Apple services? And people not having any agency succumb to Apple?

How about the millions of people finding good value with Apple Music or Apple TV, just to name two services.

I think it was just comedic hyperbole...

I think a significant number also just have iCloud storage which is part of this figure. I’m sure plenty enjoy the other services too but many will just pay £2.49 a month to increase their storage and be counted as part of this figure.

lol i guess i count as one with my 99 cents 50gb icloud plan. not sure why apple wants to fluff up this number, wall st isn't that easily fooled.
How is it fluffed? They explicitly state that it counts subscriptions. In the quarterly results, at least. This headline isn’t great.

My (umpteenth) Apple Music 3 Month free trial is coming to an end in September… I doubt I will renew. Unless they pull Apple Classical Music out their arses pronto and manage to make it a better service than the current offering.

It’s almost as irritating as the way they leap from 200 Gb to 2 Tb in their pricing structure. I know they are a business and there are alternatives, but it still irked me (when I just passed 200 Gb the other day).
I'm with you!
Earlier this year my Photos library went over 200GB and nothing for it but bite the bullet and go with 2TB… of which 1.75TB is now lying fallow…

Surely a 500GB in between would be doable?

Apple moves in mysterious ways…

Apple now has over 860 million paid subscribers across all of its services
Subscriptions. Not subscribers.
Accuracy in reporting and all that…
2:21 pm: 860 million total paid subscriptions across all services, up 160 million in the last 12 months.
