I had the swollen battery issue with my Apple Watch Series 0 back a few months ago. Calling in they said there was no program but reading the forums I kept seeing people where getting them replaced. I took it into the Apple Store, which I really didn't want to do as it was around the holidays and it took a week to get an appointment, and they said they would send it off to be examined. Within a few days I got a shipping notice and they sent me a Watch Series 1 as a replacement for free.

I have a gold out of warranty watch that refuses to power on. Reading these posts of people managing to get similar watches serviced makes me wonder if it's worth giving it a shot at a repair. I have moved on to a series 3 LTE Nike and series 2 Nike sport but I certainly would not mind having tj at gold one working again.
This right here is the problem. Does anyone own a real Rolex, Omega, TAG Heuer etc that "refuses to power on" a few years down the line?

This post right here demonstrates what's the problem is with a tech company coming out with a "watch"

Nobody's Omega, Rolex , TAG Heuer, Breitling etc refused to "power on"
Yes but nobody's Omega, Rolex, TAG Heuer or Breitling help me navigate turns and lane changes through unfamiliar territory, tracks my sleep, helps me track my activity, keeps me connected to important notices from my kids' school like road closures or detours between my house and the school, tracks the weather, the moon phases, my cardiac condition. That's just naming a few things. Maybe some of those watches can do a few of those functions or something else...but all of them? All in a package small enough to fit on a petite person's wrist no less.

Lol, and I DO have some fancy watches that refuse to power on. Because their itty bitty non rechargeable batteries died. I also have kinetic and solar powered watches. But I got spoiled having a computer on my wrist. It's hard to go back to giving that wrist space back to a device that only tells me the time and date, albeit prettily.

And, batteries in premium Swiss watches do wear out....however, local watchmakers can pretty easily replace those batteries...you'll pay around $100, though, because they have to re-do the waterproofing.

Anyone own a Rolex, Onega, TAG Heuer that can do what these smart watches can do?

My gen1 stainless steel had the face pop off. And Apple techs said there is no replacement program for series 0. I showed them the articles and they went out the back came back and said still no program. Go and buy a new watch. Was under the 3 years from purchase.

That’s gorgeous...on a person with a wrist larger than mine. The smallest size I saw was 41 mm. The lowest starting price I saw was $1,200. The two factors combined make it a no go for me. I am glad to know such a beauty exists, though. Thanks for posting about it. A watch like that is a good possibility as a gift for my husband someday. He has an ordinary Tag that was an anniversary gift from his employer. He doesn’t wear it very often because he prefers smart watch functions.

Hey if it fits and you can afford it, go for it. But I see no need for anyone to denigrate one of the better and affordable smart watches available for women and people on a tighter budget.

My original series O stainless steel Apple Watch is still working fine. It’s not like these watches are garbage. I don’t exactly baby my Apple Watches. They go through a lot of varied conditions in a year. My original has served my family better than that. My teenager wears it to track her sports activities.

Well that sucks. Will they repair it for a cost? These are out of warranty now, unfortunately.

Why do you spend so much time on an apple forum if you think Apple is so terrible. Your comments are almost always like this.

I don't think they are terrible, just some of their products are. Apple makes more than one product. Liking one of them does not mean I have to like them all.

Waiting to sign up for the class action. Had a screen pop off due to a swollen battery. Apple offered an out of warranty repair for $230. Had no choice but to buy a new model and toss the old one.

Alternative title: Apple admits to manufacturing defects in 42mm series 2 Apple watches. :)

I agree. More like Apple has been going downhill and paying lots of people off. They said their ratings and everything is going up. Well for 7 years I been complaining, they told me that I never once called to complain. Instead they said I was telling them that I called them to tell them what a good job they been doing and that they were able to resolve my problems. With fake ass customer service its no wonder you get A+ rating. I used to defend Steve Jobs APPLE ANYTIME ANYDAY! Now its just a piece of lying trash!

Except that's demonstrably false when looking at Apple for the last 20 years, but hey, keep on pushing the narrative, maybe you'll convince yourself...

I just got my series 2 replaced 2 weeks ago today for the 3rd time after multiple issues with the watch rebooting and not turning on. Since the end of February, I had to repeatedly take in my watch having to send out my series 2 to their repair division 3 times. They kept telling me it was probably a software issue until the watch didn't turn on anymore. This would explain why I'm now on a free series 3 thanks to the endless amount of resets and visits to the apple store over the last month and a half

Oh my goodness! I am having the exact same issue. Apple Support insists on my end that it is a software issue but at least now (as I am typing), they are offering me options to either bring it in for repairs or to mail it out.

I have a friend that had this issue but never mentioned it until his girlfriend just casually mentioned it when we were all out for lunch. The look on his face for being "outted" was priceless. He's the usual Apple diehard that will never let you know when one of his Apple devices has an issue. It Never surprises me anytime I run into an Apple users like this, that try to hide defects or any kind of problem they're having with their Apple device. I just don't understand this need to be so protective of this company. Lol.

Why are you here? I’ve had every phone, iPad and watch and zero issues. Are your friends all special? L
