Apple today started selling refurbished versions of the Apple Watch Series 7, which is the newest Apple Watch model that was released in September 2021.

Pricing on the Series 7 starts at $339 for a 41mm aluminum model, with the 45mm aluminum models priced slightly higher at $359. At this time, Apple is only offering aluminum Apple Watch Series 7 models, though there are several color options available with matching Sport Bands.

The 41mm aluminum Apple Watch is normally priced at $399, and the 45mm version is priced at $399, so Apple is offering discounts of $60 and $70, respectively. All of the refurbished Apple Watch Series 7 devices that are available right now are GPS only, and in the future, if Apple adds cellular versions or models in other materials, prices will be more expensive.

Refurbished Apple Watches are inspected, tested, cleaned, and repackaged with a new box, new manuals, and a new Apple Watch charging puck. Apple provides a standard one-year warranty that can be extended with AppleCare+ for Apple Watch.

Might as well buy it new.
Why? Saves you money, get the same warranty and will look exactly the same as brand new, better for the environment too!

Edit - I keep getting responses that say you can buy it new on Amazon for the same price or slightly less. I get this, for the same price there is an argument to get it new because why wouldn’t you. However I do think Apple refurbished is good sometimes because it can be cheaper and you are helping the environment. In this case however I guess buying on Amazon for around the same price would make sense!

I’m not a ‘refurbisher purchaser’, but these watches are literally like new. [The battery and display are generally replaced if needed], with the exception of the physical casing. It would be near impossible to differentiate Apples refurbished units from an actual ‘new’ Apple Watch.

So if someone returned the watch because of a small dent/scratch (only seen by the buyers with a hawkeye), the chance of getting the same damage is 100% Or if a button does not feel right?

Just wondering…

Not sure the battery and display are replaced… I understood that Apple replaces the whole watch when your battery is below 80%

You wish. Maybe last year, but not anymore.

Everybody has a different perception of what they’re able to see and feel with a refurbished product, and if you’re not happy with it, they’ll simply replace it with another one for you. In some cases, they will try to replicate the problem if you find something with a ‘power button that sticks’ for example, but in most cases, it’s just more efficient to issue another device to the customer.

The disparity between trade in offered to the refurbished price is still wide. Of course there are a lot of smart people and even more gullible ones that can and cannot see through things.

What I meant was if the device was returned with previous mentioned damage/malfunctions. What is the chance that it ends up in the refurbished sales with the same “damage/issues”? Obviously I doubt someone would check if the power button is “mushy” if that was the return reason.

Heck, no. Not even new Watches come with one.

Where's the image of Tim Cook laughing?

Sorry about that, I forgot Apple stopped giving the adapters! I've updated the post.

My last apple watch was the series 3. I genuinely want to buy another one. The battery life is still abysmal and unequivocally unacceptable. What good is sleep tracking if it has to charge every night?!? They made the watch larger, clunkier, and changed essentially nothing. Yet the sales continue 🤷‍♂️.

I briefly had an SE, and it was such a weird/slow process to put some of my music on it that I quit and returned it after just a couple days.

I quickly realized that it's just not a product for me right now.

I'm someone who would honestly prefer an e-ink screen and massive battery life

Adding music is a chore, for sure. Playing said music on a morning jog was a one-way ticket to a dead battery long before the end of the day.
