But do they work on Mac?

One of the big downsides of Lightning was they were inoperable between your iPhone and Mac.

Oh and does anyone know how these cost $19 when a Lightning to USB-C dongle is $29? Also some noise cancelling Pro versions of these would be 🔥

Apple lists them as Mac compatible.

I still use wired EarPods for phone calls from time to time (primarily at home). I found that the other party can hear me better than with Airpods as long as there is no noise (probably because the mic dangles closer to the mouth).

I guess now the new USB-C EarPods have 16bit/44.1kHz to 24bit/48kHz support including lossless audio compatibility.
I don’t understand. I’ve always been able to play lossless (ALAC) files through my headphones, even on the first iPhone. These are just speakers. What could possibly have been “missing” here? Does every single iPhone transcode the ALAC files on the fly for all the old headphones?

I assume the next AppleTV remote will get USBC finally....too....please.

UPDATE.. "You big dummy. It has had it for over a year!"

Haha OOPSIE. Guess I need to get out of my swamp more often. I had given up TBH.
That said, can one plug the usb c EarPods into the Apple TV remote and listen quietly next to their sleeping partner like Roku? If so, I’m snagging some.

In addition to updating the AirPods Pro with a USB-C charging case, Apple has made its wired EarPods headphones available with a USB-C connector for use with the new iPhone 15 models. The earbuds are $19 on Apple's online store.

Apple now sells three versions of EarPods, including ones with a USB-C connector, Lightning connector, and a 3.5mm headphone plug.

Released in 2012, the EarPods have become far less popular since Apple launched wireless AirPods in 2016. Starting with the iPhone 12 series in 2020, Apple stopped including EarPods and a charger in the box with new iPhones in order to be more environmentally friendly, a decision that was controversial at the time.

Apple released its original iconic white earbuds in 2001 alongside the launch of the first iPod, and they received a major redesign and the EarPods name in 2012.

No. You'd have to use Bluetooth from the Apple TV for that. It works brilliantly, though, and you can even use two pairs of headphones (if they're AirPods) to watch TV together. Handy for apartment living and late night viewing.

Does anyone still use those things? I have two pair of AirPods Pro, one first and one second generation..

I bought both Apple ones and AliExpress ones. There’s no difference. I used to be a deejay/producer in my teenage years so i think i can say that i know a thing or three of music and soundquality.

I already ordered new ones with usb-c from Ali. Ofcourse for a fraction of the price.
