I have a 4th gen in my car, but honestly a USB stick has better integration with my 2013 Toyota stereo so I don't use it anymore.

My old car didn't have USB or AUX so I had the iPod and a cassette adapter. :D Jeeze I've had that thing a long time.

I was very disappointed with Toyota's iPod implementation. It's so time consuming to find tracks. Unless you just want to shuffle. It'll shuffle all day long, but finding songs is a PITA...

Oh, I could use a playlist, but they are a PITA to create.

I use a Dexcom Continuous Glucose Monitor that links with a small Dexcom device, of an iPhone. The data available on the iPhone is superior than Dexcom's own monitor so it is left on the shelf.

I have been thinking about writing Dexcom about just using an iPod device, of even a smaller iPhone. The potential for boosting data manipulation has ben shown the smartphone version and older versions of the iPhone might workout as well, saving Dexcom a fair amount off cash. If the customer wants to add cellular then they can get a normal iPhone.

I thought it was 'obsoleted'. Oh, and my spelling check didn't flag it, so it has to be good. (Or I've added it to the list in error before. It happens)
“Obsoleted” would be the past or past participle of the (apparently also a) verb “obsolete.”

I dislike this trend of creating verbs from other parts of speech, although I concede that language evolves.

Planned obsolescence.
It's Apple's way to get more money from you and force you to buy a new iPod - Every 9gag and many YouTube comments.

It's that, but also that progress happens, change happens, things evolve. It happens all around us. It's unstoppable. True, some is probably where a decision was made to not make an improvement until the new one is released, but to blame it all on a rapacious appetite for money is short sighted. Was Apple supposed to keep the original first iPod form for eternity?

The real crooks perpetrating 'planned obsolescence' are the auto manufacturers, making new cars that still rust out, with insides made of cheap thin plastic. But carry on...

I was being sarcastic,btw.

My kids both loved their iPods, I was pretty salty however that I bought the 6th gen iPod touch for my daughter right before the 7th gen was announced, and Apple for whatever reason didn’t include the 6th gen in the iOS 12 release pool. So within 6 months of her receiving it, and with a year and a half of AppleCare remaining, it was already rendered obsolete.

The ex and I got them new iPads this past year so that took care of the obsolete issue, but I’m never again buying something from Apple that isn’t within a few months of its release.
Totally agree with Apples method of making them obsolete so quickly, its not good.

Phones and iPads seem to be supported for years, the iPad Air2 from 5/6 years ago can still take the new iOS15 that will be launched next week

But your iPod 6th generation should be capable of taking iOS 12.5.4 - at least thats what is on ours.
