It's like you're the guy that people talk about when they talk down to Apple users. Willful ignorance.

No, it's not a matter of willful ignorance. I want a pair of Beats on the cheap and don't want yet another unhelpful lecture about how I should instead use my dollars for kindling because every self-described audiophile has to dig up the 'Beats Suck And You're Stupid For Liking Them And You Can Get Much Better For The Money' argument.

But then again, this is the internet. You're not allowed to have an opinion without some other idiot giving you theirs.

You call yourself an audiophile and you're listening to your music on an iPhone?
iPhone sounds way better than any of the so called "audiophile" analog turntables for example. I wonder what part of the sound quality or the tech spec of the audio circuitry of the iPhone you object to and dismiss it as being an audiophile quality.

I bet you can't even tell the difference in sound quality between what you regard as an audiophile source and an iPhone playing FLAC or AIFF file doing a double blind test. It is pretty hard even for the many golden eared people to tell the difference between the AAC 256 and an uncompressed audio. Only on very dynamic passages and very quiet passages you may be able to hear the lack of the dynamic range or sampling artifacts. I am a very picky listener myself and in most cases I find the limiting factor not the playback equipment but the recording itself.

iPhone may not be classified as an audiophile equipment but certainly it sounds pretty darn good compared to many of the claimed to be an audiophile equipment.
