Thanks.

Joke though you're right, I said this earlier doesn't even bring them back into line with what they were before they hiked the prices.

£20 gift card for the Watch. Would buy you a lightning cable and thats about it..

No worries, I honestly don't get the price increase. I'm sure there is a reason for it but an upwards of 20% increase in the price of certain products is ridiculous. Blame Brexit, the weak pound, taxes or whatever, there is no excuse for a 20% price increase. Im not suddenly paying 20% more for other imported goods. Wish I got paid 20% more to compensate! Ha!!

Well most chains with consumer products raise the prices before black friday and then put up 25% off so they get back to the same price as the week before..

Here in NZ that behaviour is completely illegal and will get you smashed by the Commerce Commission in no time.

Price adjustment for the weakness of the pound vs the dollar. I said before the October event it happened that it was coming for the Mac, they had already hiked the iPad and iPhone. You can bet if the pound makes a recovery they won't be as quick to adjust them the other way.

I was absolutely stunned when I saw the price of those new MacBooks. High end 15 inch £3500- 4000. Absolutely insane.

Yeah no, thanks. Just picked up a 64GB iPad Mini 4 Wifi + Cellular for 225 bucks off Apple's price from Best Buy. They are also offering deep discounts on the rest of their iPad lineup, Series 1 Apple Watches for 50 bucks off, and other discounts on their Mac lineup. Why would anyone bother with Apple and their gift card nonsense when the third party retailers have them so thoroughly beat?

My favourite is the £500 increase on the base Mac Pro and now you get a £120 gift card.... brexit it not, it's shocking value for a 2013 machine ....

Apple is very quick to adjust when it's in their favour.

Though the top end 2012 retina was also very expansive , from my experience of buying one, wait a year and prices will drop , in 2016 u are paying for a design premium

It's like the iMac 21.5" that's just over a year old.

Is now £1049 for the entry level model. Prior the hikes it came in at £899.

Even with the £120 gift card it's still £30 higher coming in at £929.

The magic keyboard is much closer to the keyboard on the MacBook Air and the keyboard on the older MacBook Pros.

It doesn't even use the same switch mechanism as the new MacBook Pro/MacBook.

It doesn't but they re-engineered the switch to be very very similar - trust me if you've not compared the two it's very hard to tell them apart in use. The new MacBook Pro feels very much like the Magic Keyboard, travel is basically identical.

I got the top spec 15" with 3 years AppleCare (but with 1TB instead of 2TB) with some discount for £2980, factor in cashback and VAT and it down to £2430 - and at this rate i'll be able to sell my immaculate 2015 MacBook Pro for about £2300 - costing me all over a hundred quid or so to upgrade (actually end up saving my money because I haven't factored in the corporation tax saving spending my profits will help) - and don't forget i've got a tech asset that holds its value very well then to sell again in a year for probably similar to what I paid for it when the discounts are counted.

Just got my invoice for the "free" gift card and of course they charge you full price for the gift card and take the price off the device.. which means you can't claim the actual cost of the device for your work purposes..
