Not sure what to think about this.
Am I the only one concerned that this will ghettoize podcasters and make them less visible..
In iTunes, podcasts and and other "New Media" stood side by side in iTunes with "Old Media"..
This feels like a step backwards to me.
well then it's coming off my phone. None of the podcasts I listen to are in iTunes.Nope, it's all based on the iTunes catalogue.
If I were a podcaster, I'd be worried. Now users have to download a podcasting app if they want to explore podcasts. It's less likely that people will stumble upon podcasts because they won't be integrated into a native iOS app that comes with the iPhone/iPad.
I wonder if this is a move by Apple to slowly transition to separate apps on the computer. A lot of people complain that iTunes is too bloated, maybe this will allow Apple to break it up and keep it lean.

Why does everything have to have a separate app, most of us, well, a lot of us have upwards of 150 apps on our iOS devices I don't what good another app is going to do... iTunes as first released on iOS looked just great...anyway bs inconsequential moves by apple that aren't anything to write home about or could even be considered a step back, we should start getting used to them...

You better believe that the Podcasts app will come standard on future shipping iPhones and iPads.
Does it do automatic updates of podcasts without user intervention? Downcast cannot because of an iOS limitation.
Would make a lot of sense. I hope this is the case
Starting a podcast on the phone and picking up where you left off on the iPad works great. The 30 second forward button is nice too. I like it much better than the standard Music app.

Well if it's possible I couldn't easily find it. I currently use podcaster but am going to give downcast a try. For $1.99 why not.
