I don't think there's anything official regarding plans.. Tim is supposed to offer the iPhone with tutto compreso, starting at 29 per month for the plan and 20 Euros /mo for the phone plus 8 euros for internet

That's awesome that they can expand the iPhone 4, but I think they should be fulfilling all the backordered sales. The wait is three weeks and that sucks. Maybe its a marketing thing to create this shortage of iPhones but it's not so cool for impatient folks like me.

Oh well. It is just a phone....hope you all have a good buying experience

Enjoy lining up overnight and standing for hours, my international friends. I stood in line for 4.5 hours for this one, and while it was fun, I won't be doing that again.

Standing in line on day 0 to buy ~anything~ is ~always~ awesome. It's like the best ritual we we have left. You can guarantee the other people there have similar interests be it for a phone, concert tickets and so on. I've met some of my best friends standing around for hours in a line waiting to purchase something totally inconsequential.

The carrier I want, Three, doesn't sell them in the UK yet as they can't get them in stock, most other networks will only sell in a shop to existing customers, and Apple Store now has a 4-6 week waiting list. This is going to get worse when the next bunch of countries get their launch at the end of this month.

Apple should wait IMHO until stock is high enough to meet demand.

What a load of crap Apple! This release for Australia is ONLY if you purchase on contract or if you live in NSW or Vic (restricted). You CANNOT buy on line and you CANNOT buy outright if you live else where. So if you are an iPhone fan you cannot get the latest unless you takeout another contract or your contract happens to be up, or you live in NSW & Vic (restricted). I live in Adelaide and CANNOT buy here anywhere outright, and cannot buy on line??? I don't understand why Apple would do this? So if your loyal to Apple you miss out for now.?? The word NAZI comes to mind.

Don't feel too bad. I live in Melbourne and as far as I can tell my options are to:

A. Take a half day off work, camp in front of the Chadstone mall all night, and pray I land myself with one of like ten iphones they will have in the store or

B. Wait until a few months from now when they become readily available

It's the telco's alright. They have limited supply and they want to lock people back into their contracts again. Also, it appears that Optus is giving Business customers priority. So I'll be ordering midnight after Thursday

32 GB: NOK 5790,- ($942)

These prices include 25% sales tax.

At least one of the carriers, Netcom, has announced that they will not sell the phone without a contract, though, and their prices are yet to be announced.
