Does someone know when puerto rico es getting the ipad 2:confused::confused::confused:. I have call best buy, walmart and modernica since we don't have apple store here. Does someone think it will arrive with the international 3/25 ??/ The only thing i know att puerto rico receive in one store 7 ipads but 3g ones.

I seriously doubt that you understand the situation of the launch here in the US.

Indeed.

The only people who do understand it are the ones with figures, not subjective interpretations based on anecdotal evidence.

But !!!

I seriously doubt that you understand the situation of the launch here in the US.

You seem to miss the point that the USA DID have a launch of the iPad2.

Now its the turn of the other countries to buy all the available stock and those who don't manage to get one will sit and wait (like some people in the states) for stock to be completed and allocated around the world.

Sounds harsh but Apple's policy on sales is up to Apple and if people have a problem with it then they can vote with their wallets.

Last year in the UK we were told that Apple would not be supplying the iPad on time due to unprecedented demand in the states.

Seems to me that Apple are keeping their word on this one so good luck to them.

Seems fairly simple. For 2 weeks you got to gorge yourself on iPads but you were not satisfied. Now (as Apple promised when they announced dates) everyone else will get a chance.

Launching in the US first is a bit silly unless you are going to build up some stock to handle the launch demand. They should probably just launch in the UK first and start selling in the US a month or two latter.

I've just put together this summary table for anyone who is interested in all the international pricing.

If anyone has information on the missing prices, please help me out!

All values are in local currencies.

Enjoy.

Nice post, can you convert all these and put in same setup to show one common price? eg UK GBP please? can then see the differences in prices around the world

cheers

When one looks at all the threads here, it seems as though Apples failing to use all their resources properly. If by now they are unable to estimate demand vs their production capacity, they are sadly unprepared. It's not like they are a brand new company with a first generation product. If they can't do a better job than this, something is quite wrong.

Excited Ozzie

I'm one of these people who is stupid and is dying to get one of these asap (I know 'm not the only one)... But, I have a dilemma... I don't think I'm goin to have enough $$$ to buy it. Does anyone know / has anyone ever used the Apple Finance option? Thinking of doing it for the new iPad2 and just paying it out as soon as I can so I'm not hit with too much of the interest. Just wondering if they'll even do Apple Finance for a new product? ? ? Does anyone know how it works?

Hi Apple,

Here in Merry Olde England(tm) we don't "get iPad" or "buy iPad", we "get an iPad" or "buy an iPad", iPad being a singular noun and all that. I realise that you're an American company, but you manage to spell the word 'colour' correctly on your UK web site and emails, so can you please also set your grammar checker to 'en-gb'?

And quickly please, or at this rate you'll be telling us something is "a £100 value" before we know it.

Thanks awfully.

Ipad 2 South Africa

It is so typical, South Africa is at the bottom of the list, well we not on the list.
We only got the Ipad in South Africa at the end of 2010, now im sure we going to wait until Christmas again for Ipad 2.......... Someone in Apple doesnt think there is a big enough market in SA, for Ipad 2....

Email Steve Jobs - sure he would be very grateful for your analysis.

If they can't do a better job than this, something is quite wrong.

Never fails to amaze me how people can sit behind a keyboard and proscribe such damning judgements as this with a straight face. :D

Its like a barnacle having an opinion about which way the battleship should turn.

WOW! Clearly missed the point of my post. And the nastiness from the British Isles continues.

Granted there are Americans being just as nasty.

Post boiled down for you.
-Crappy experience on all retail fronts thanks to Apple, a company that usually promises less and delivers more.
-Supply chain either severly constrained or allocations of inventory completely incorrect. Either way won't know until Apple launches in other countries.

Happy Launch.

You can always go for a new, original iPad for $400 at Target or BigW. I think the used ones on eBay just end short $400 but comes with some accessories. Thought about trying the cheaper iPad before you get committed on the next upgrade?

Not only did they get the spelling right, they also have the date format right :) But I think when they don't have the "an" it's probably because it's a proper noun (though I still think you would use 'an'), or you could probably buy more than one iPad.

It is so typical, South Africa is at the bottom of the list, well we not on the list.

LOL I'm from SA and I know what you mean. It's been sold by a 3rd party at a inflated rate. I think you'll just have to wait... it might even be quicker if you're going overseas in the next few months.

You started off by characterising what Brits are saying as "Sod off. Get to the back of the line.". A more accurate version would be "Leave our line alone and stick to your own line that you got 2 weeks early because you are special".

As far as the actual issues go, the US has 50% more varieties of iPad than the rest of the world. Maybe 18 different iPads is just too many for their supply chain to cope with. Who really has a clue whether the 16GB black Verizon iPad will be more popular than the 64GB white wifi only.

This is getting dumb, but the "Sod off" comment was used by some else earlier in this thread.

And who should know which version will sell more? Apple should since they are paying analysts $100k+ to do market analysis just like my company does.

Yeah, by an International team lead by an English Person using parts build and Designed in Japan and China.

I don´t realy care much about cry babyissem, but wen it starts having racist undertones... it´s a state of mind putting these in what "you" write, more than just impatiance.

Racist undertones? Americans are a race?

Sorry Africa doesn't count.

just kidding.... I wrote so many emails to Apple complaining of why we don't matter to them. First all , if your apple product has issues, you are pretty much screwed, unless you have someone going oversea.

2nd like one said above, they sell it to 2nd parties and we get to pay higher than anybody in the world.

3rd, yes, we have social, economic iproblems, but that is not a reason to pretty much say, oh well it's africa, they don't matter.

do our african leaders care? absolutely not. they will go oversee with our tax money and buy one for themselves and entire family.

Sorry i had to vent. i am pissed. Well Africa, our launch date is Jan 2012

Here is the price list again but with all prices converted to GBP.
I will try and get a USD up this afternoon (I have to go to school for now  )

"Crappy experience" from those that didn't get what they wanted.

Now, 1 unhappy customer is one too many, but to say "on all retail fronts" is an opinion that stands alone without qualification or context.

Where do you draw the line?

10% can't get their hands on an oversubscribed must have gadget in the first 2 weeks? 15%

Without actual figures - its all just opinion. And everyone has one of them.

-Supply chain either severly constrained or allocations of inventory completely incorrect. Either way won't know until Apple launches in other countries.

Or.... their are working to supply a huge variety of products in a large array of markets and their supply chain is stuffed to economic capacity.

Now - i don't know how stupid people working at apple are - but they surely have the money to hire people smarter than you or I.

So who is more likely to be wrong?

Hi all,

If anyone is interested I have compiled this large table comparing all of the international iPad 2 prices I could find and also have converted every price into GBP and USD just for an interesting comparison.

Have opened a thread here too if anyone would like to comment.

I hope you find it useful!

Splendid work. :)

It's nice to see that the UK has the cheapest prices in the EU.
