Personally I was never particularly impressed by the iPods' UIs. The big old ones with the physical wheels were pretty nice to interact with I guess. Owned several different generations of Shuffles and Nanos myself and can't say I'm nostalgic for any of them.

I still have and use my ipods. Is there an app for iphone that digitally recreates the click wheel? Apple themselves should do this

I *really* wish they would at least fix the issue of podcasts having no artwork and getting shuffled in with Artists before completely abandoning the iPod. I'd love to use mine with podcasts but this makes it really difficult.

It always just amazes me how long Apple products last without having issues. Some of the original nano’s are even still fully operational, I think that’s just a testament to Apples build quality with the hardware standards over the years. If you manage the battery properly, the products still operate without issue.

And people that don’t use Apple products wonder why we pay more money for products with “worse specs”.

God speed little guy. I miss ipods. I think most people will agree that the iPhone was certainly a more impactful and impressive product, but the iPod brought me more joy at its time.

Vintage Apple products :(
I would love to have a 1st generation and 7th generation iPod. I check eBay and FB Marketplace several times a week hoping to find a steal. But, it is usually like new and way out of my range, or in my range with a stainless back that looks like it has been sandpapered. My first iPod was a 3rd Gen 10GB—wish I would have kept it.

I still have a blue nano around somewhere. They were small enough to lose almost anywhere. Perhaps it's between the sofa cushions

So the trash can Mac Pro should be considered vintage then... right?
I guess that's because Apple rarely bothers to update the Mac Pro in the first place. Might be different if they were updated as often as other Macs

It’s funny... the other day i was cleaning out a cupboard - and I found an old 4GB iPod Mini, still in the box (must’ve been a prize or something). I’d forgotten how much I liked the click wheel. For navigating through a list of songs, I much prefer that to my iPhone‘s interface.

Those things are awesome. Not worth ruining one still in the box - that might be a collectors item by now, but those Minis are really easy to mod to have a ton of space. You can get a high capacity CF card and put it right in, or you can get a CF to SD adapter and put in a large SD card. I know I've seen ones with 256GB, perhaps you can go even bigger. One of the benefits of the Mini is that is had a Wolfson DAC, which many folks thing sounds better than the DACs used in later iPods.

There's really nothing like that today.

Yep, my first Apple device was a 6GB iPod Mini in silver. It still sits on my desk as an heirloom piece. Good times indeed!

Love my 7th gen nano and use it daily for music consumption. Easy to skip between songs and adjust volume from the device itself. That and I love the audio crossfade feature. Apple needs to hurry and at that to Apple Music already.

I would love to have an iPod nano 128-256 GB with Wi-Fi, AirPods and Apple Music support <3

I would really love a new iPod classic with 2TB SSD storage. They don't need to change anything other than adding SSD storage, USB-C or lightning (or both!), bluetooth and wifi (for wireless syncing/headphones but keep the headphone jack). Otherwise the same old interface is perfect. I would buy that immediately.
