How is Apple identifying who's a veteran and who's not? Does it apply only to US servicemembers or do people commemorating Remembrance Day around the world also get in on the deal?

There is an online ID service that veterans can signup for and be verified against his/her military record. Apple then verifies thru that service in real time.

Veterans Day Challenge has a special meaning to me. It was a day my father who served was proud of. Loved his country, his service and veterans. Always went to the Veterans Day Parades here and loved talking with veterans and civilians alike. He passed just before last Veteran's Day so although I had always done these in honor of him before his passing, I'm particularly motivated to earn the badge now.

Much respect for all veterans from all countries who've served. Thank you for your service.

I am genuinly sorry. In no way was it meant as an offence to anybody, except perhaps to Apple.

My deepest and heartfelt apologies to anybody who did feel offended, and my thanks for the service rendered by vets everywhere.
