Now:

AppleTV - contains 54 movies/TV shows, 1 year included or 9,99€
iCloud 5GB included - 50GB for 0,99€
Apple Music 9,99€ 1-6 months free with promotion, 4,99€ for students
Apple Arcade - 4,99€

25,96€

AppleOne - 14,99€, when available - same Apple TV content, more iCloud Space, same Apple Music and Arcade.

It looks cheaper, but its actually more expensive in case AppleOne will be the only subscription and therefore the only way to access any of the services in the future. Looking for 50GB iCloud? Get AppleOne. If one did subscribe to all services previously, its probably a nice deal. Let’s see. Apple TV+ lacks content, why would one get that for monthly 9,99€ on a constant basis? Additional shows needs to be purchased. Arcade? Try it for a couple of months maybe. News not available in Europe.

It’s a bit like back in 2008, where the housing market crashed and banks bundled AAA and triple C rated subprime products and sold them as one new package to make it look more attractive.

On the other hand, they need to make some money.

Apple TV+ costs 4.99 and the single subscriptions for the different services will still just stay (and they really are not gonna remove those).

So if you now have Apple tv+ and Apple music (+ the obligatory 50GB) you will save a dollar and get Apple Arcade free. If you don't want or need Apple TV+ or Apple Music then you can just keep your current configuration for the same price you're paying now. No harm no foul.

True. But then... what’s the fuzz about AppleOne after all?

The base level needs 200GB iCloud IMO and / or there needs to be an 'individual premier' option for those of us singletons that don't have families to share the services with, if it was around the $20 mark and only a single user could use each service, I'd be in for sure. Whilst the Premier bundle looks to me like a great deal for a family, I simply don't need the option to share with up to 5 people.

200GB for the individual bundle and 1TB for the family would have at least got me to consider the individual package.

Apple One and Fitness+ are not pieces of hardware that take time to fabricate, manufacture, ship, fill distribution etc. I don't understand announcing this and not being able to go live with it. When will this be available?

While your statement is true, it seems completely oblivious. I mean, it's not like Tim snaps his fingers and BOOM....a new software product appears out of thin air.

I'm sure there are things they need to finalize, could be code, could be financial stuff, could be parternships/contracts, or pre-recorded content. Basically we don't have insight into every aspect of a project like this so we can't possibly know WHY it's not ready. But clearly Apple wanted to announce it at this event with the rollout of the Apple Watch S6 despite the fact that it wasn't fully ready.

For other people where it does make sense. For me, $5/mo more than I'm spending now gets me TV+, Arcade, News+, and Fitness+. I'll likely only make much use of TV+ and Fitness+, but it's nice to know I can use the others if I decide to.

These seem like great deals IF you want Apple Music.
Probably seem like an awesome deal if you already have Apple Music, because for $5 more you get AppleTV and Apple Arcade and some iCloud storage (the issue being if you want the individual plan, but need 200GB iCloud, unless it'll bill you the difference.

BUT I'd like some non-music packages, as music is the most expensive option.

Apple Music (Individual) - Annually $99
200GB iCloud (Family) - Annually $35.88 (Monthly $2.99)
Apple TV+ (Individual) - Annually $49.99

= $184.87

The plans as described would force me to upgrade to the "Family" package for everything which would be $239.40 per year.

I know I am in the minority here. However, in my case this is not a good deal.

No one is FORCING you to do anything. If you don't want Arcade and your family members don't want music then it makes no sense to upgrade.

Now, if you can do the individual plan and pay the extra $2 a month for more iCloud it'd be cheaper than the family plan, but still $20 more than you pay now, so unless you want Arcade...

FYI, I think your AppleTV+ is already a family plan.

(It's not a good deal for me either. My issue is Music is the feature I don't want and it's the priciest service)

I probably should have explained better. Of course no one is forcing me to purchase the Apple One plan. I was trying to say that if I did purchase the Apple One, I would need (be forced) to purchase the family plan to get the same features (or better). If I chose the individual plan I would lose out on the 200GB shared storage.

I'm guessing (hoping) that you could do the individual plan and pay $2 extra for the extra storage.

I'm kind of meh about the plans since they all force me to get Apple Music ;)

The devil will be in the details. I don't like the fact that unless you own an apple watch, the Fitness+ service won't work (to my knowledge.) If you are on the Apple One premier plan (want the 2gb and news +), you really are paying for a service you can't use. (To be fair, you will still save money, but not as much.)

It is what it is.

See, I can understand being disappointed that there aren't more options. But that's not what a lot of folks are saying... Most people are saying these options are all wrong because they don't cater to their specific needs.

I'm sure Apple did some a heavy amount of analysis of customer subscription habits across their ecosystem and went with what made the most sense based on that data while also striving to keep things as simple as possible for the average person. A large part of their customer base is looking for simplicity, not complexity, and adding customized bundling options is counter to that I think.
That is a symptom of the times. Too many people only think the world or certain things should work a certain way because otherwise it doesn’t work for them, not realising the bigger picture.

Myself personally I can how Apple One will be appealing. Unfortunately I pay for Apple Music yearly upfront, and would be willing to pay for Apple TV+ yearly upfront if the new iPhone doesn’t come with the free years subscription, as we suspect.
The 50GB of iCloud would be a nice bonus, and I have no interest in buying Apple Arcade and again it would be a bonus to have.
As such I don’t see value myself switching to a monthly plan which would cost £30 more than buying the services I want annually.

As much as the monthly subscription Apple One doesn’t work for me, it’s absolutely great value for those who prefer to pay monthly and want at least 2 out of Apple TV+ and Apple Arcade, as well as Apple Music.

I thought you were mistaken, but you're absolutely correct. Good thing we have 2 in my household...but I can see this limiting their ability to sell subscriptions (I'm sure their pushing for more Apple Watch sales).

Apple Fitness+ requires Apple Watch Series 3 or later with watchOS 7 or later and one of the following Apple devices: iPhone 6s or later with iOS 14 or later, iPad with iPadOS 14 or later, or Apple TV with tvOS 14 or later.2

Has anyone noticed that when you try to consolidate iTunes that it forces you to use the iCloud now instead of consolidating on a hard disk? It seems that Apple is trying to force people over to their services. And they’ve apparently figured out the data range that’s just slightly too small.

Apologies if I missed it in the thread but I did a search for "prorated" and it didn't return anything.

I already subscribe to Apple Music on a yearly plan that is set to renew in Jan. Do I get a prorated credit back if I sign up for one of the bundles?

Now with the apple one bundle, will I be loosing showtime if I decide to upgrade? Apple also had a deal about a 1 year ago with showtime.

Apple One bundles combine multiple services directly from Apple. As such, none of them include services from other parties like Showtime.
