So if I get the Individual plan, but upgrade the iCloud storage to 2TB, how much would that cost?
Today I'm paying for 2TB iCloud, Music and TV+ (or well, will soon be paying for TV+), so like $8.99+$9.99+$5.99 = $24.97. Bundle is $14.99 so what does the 2TB upgrade cost on top of that??

Have you met my wife? Her photo-taking is tourist level and that's within our own home. ;-)

But on a serious note... no, they pre-date any sharing - which I believe only started a year ago? And I have 2 50GB for 99 cent subs.
No it's been for well over year. Or it seems like it. Seems like we had it for ages. We have the 2tb plan. My wife does a photography thing on the side and my kids are constantly making videos, photos, editing, sharing, etc. And I use a drobo with 40tb of storage that icloud photos deposits on.

Talked to customer service with Apple. No word of discounted for Student pricing as of yet. It may or may not be included. They told me to leave a feedback. And so I did.

Individual and Family need to have customization options. Not everyone wants Arcade or TV+... Some may want Fitness+ and News+. I'm sure most want Apple Music but even that should be customizable.

I'm a bit surprised people don't like these prices.

I'm already paying $2.99 for 200GB cloud, $14.99 for family music, and $4.99 for tv+.

I can get everything I currently have PLUS Arcade for $2 CHEAPER; or for $7 more, I get Arcade, News, and Fitness, and 10x more storage. All of which are $9.99 individually I believe? That seems like a pretty good deal to me!

What am I missing?
I agree, I already have 2TB, Music (Family) & my complimentary TV will be up soon, so I pay $5 more and I get TV, News (which I will occasionally use), Arcade (my son will love) and Fitness (already work out daily, but having something to switch it up with & live metrics will give me new ways to get better).

I'm excited

My iCloud and Appstore are on separate accounts - I have to pay iCloud storage on the iCloud account and Apple Music on the Appstore account. Any idea if AppleOne will even work for me!?
Good question! I have the same setup. I think we will be fine. I had the Apple Music on my App Store account but it still worked with iCloud family sharing. Apple has plenty of people in our same scenario. We're good to go!

Possibly. If you use your App Store account for the One plan, then add your iCloud account into Family Sharing, you can share your iCloud storage that way (and cancel the current iCloud storage, of course). I believe this will work..but double check, just in case!

ah - that's a good thought thanks... hadn't used family sharing as of yet

looks like you can upgrade the icloud to 2tb with Family for another $9.99/mo....$5 less than Premiere but fewer services

Unfortunately they changed their gift cards....you wont see those discounts any more is my guess...but if you had bought a tonne of gift cards, you can now use them to buy Apple hardware, which you previously coud NOT do!
I know. That’s my worry about the changed gift cards — the discounts will go away (or be tiny). Thankfully I stocked up on a bunch of iTunes credit recently.

I think you are right - and I just had a thought... I need more than 200gb storage but don't want 2tb. I wonder if I continue to pay for 200gb on my iCloud account and share the 200gb from the family plan, will I get 400! Would be cheaper as I am not interested in the premier plan.....

So many complainers! I already pay $15/mo for Apple Music Family and $10/mo for 2TB of Cloud storage for my large family. For $5 dollars more I can get Apple News, Apple Arcade and the New Apple Fitness+ included. Sign me up! The only thing Apple NEEDS to adjust now is the number of family members you can share with. EIGHT total would be awesome. PLEASE Tim Cook, make this happen.

Yes. Others are doing the very same thing.

Apple Music (Individual) - Annually $99
200GB iCloud (Family) - Annually $35.88 (Monthly $2.99)
Apple TV+ (Individual) - Annually $49.99

= $184.87

The plans as described would force me to upgrade to the "Family" package for everything which would be $239.40 per year.

I know I am in the minority here. However, in my case this is not a good deal.

Well, you would go with the "Individual" plan at $14.95/mo ($179.40) and add the 200GB iCloud ($35.88). Yes, that is more ($215.28/year), so only do that if you want Arcade for cheap.

More importantly, I strongly suspect that when this does roll out yearly subscription prices for the bundles will be available, or if not immediately shortly thereafter. That is how all the other services so far have rolled out (press releases / event announcements detail monthly sub prices, but either at rollout or a few months later yearly subscriptions are available).

In the uk it seems they’ve messed up the pricing.

I pay £14.99 a month for Apple Music family and £6.99 for 2TB iCloud.

The premier plan is £29.99.

That means it is £7 more than these two. The equivalent in the US is $5 more.

So either we are getting a particularly good deal on iCloud storage currently or the premier bundle is substantially worse value compared to my starting point.

I’d be interested to understand how the iCloud storage upgrades work for people who get the family plan and then upgrade the storage to 2TB. That could be an option depending on how it’s calculated.

I am in exactly the same position. All three iCloud storage tiers were in GBP around 80% of the price of the equivalent USD price. But the Apple One pricing is the same USD == GBP.

I was therefore hoping that Premier would be £25 pm, and I would have been on that, but not sure it is worth the extra for me at £30 pm.

Since they specifically state that you can add on iCloud storage separately, and the difference in pricing between 200 Gb and 2 Tb in the UK is £4.50, presumably the Family plan upgraded to 2 Tb must be c. £25 pm?

that’s what I imagine but it’s not stated anywhere I’ve seen. Still, seems like they’ve got it wrong. I imagine the uptake here in the UK will be somewhat lower than in the US.

The $30 tier is amazing. I already pay $30 for family music and 2TB iCloud so I get 4 services for free. Finally Apple gives me a good deal.

One of the things I see as a common thread in a lot of these posts from people unhappy about pricing and tiers is they act like they HAVE to sign up for Apple One going forward, as if there isn't any a la carte subs anymore. I didn't see ANYTHING that stated this on Apple's website nor in the presentation. So if you're only spending $3 a month for 200GB of iCloud storage and not using any other services, what difference does it make that Family plan is $15 and includes Music, TV+ and Arcade? The bundles aren't meant for you, plain and simple. Just because a company offers a bundle doesn't mean you are obliged to sign up for the bundle... sheesh.

iCloud storage used to offer annual plans but no longer does, so while I hope you are correct I have my doubts.

I mean everyone by now is feeling subscription fatigue, especially in the last couple of years as more and more apps are moving to that model.

None of the bundles Apple announced today are attractive to me, so I will just continue buying the services I want a la carte. But that doesn't mean I'm not disappointed that they didn't offer more different combinations of bundles. I also think their storage tiers are ridiculous in the year 2020--but then again this is Apple... they were still selling 16GB iPhones in 2017.

See, I can understand being disappointed that there aren't more options. But that's not what a lot of folks are saying... Most people are saying these options are all wrong because they don't cater to their specific needs.

I'm sure Apple did some a heavy amount of analysis of customer subscription habits across their ecosystem and went with what made the most sense based on that data while also striving to keep things as simple as possible for the average person. A large part of their customer base is looking for simplicity, not complexity, and adding customized bundling options is counter to that I think.
