OK, who (what industry or reporters) is being invited? Why an anonymous tip? Does it say, "Keep this quiet, or you can't come!" This smells of Page 2.

you're reading more into my wording than need be. My source just didn't want to be identified.

Yup. Here we go. Everyone with pie in the sky expectations.

If the dual core Powermacs are released it has already been said that the will be around 2mhz. It will still kick butt, but the people hoping for dual dual 3ghz had better take their meds. The delusions will stop in a while. :)

This has to be something big...I'm thinking of a few things, either a Video iPod with a Movie store (Most likley), or a Intel Mac announcment (I wish...), or a new PowerBook *gets wallet*. Hey I can dream can't I? :p But wasn't there a seed latley of a new x86 version of OS X? Makes you think...*drools*

Agreed. They would never use that phrase for updating current offerings. This is a video iPod and a movie store. Bank on it.

You are right that this won't be for a simple update - this is something new. This is a little too "out of band" for a simple 80GB iPod announcement. Although a viPod would rank pretty highly as something very cool - there just hasn't been enough noise from the movie industry yet. It's difficult to believe the Job's could have struck a deal with all/most of the major studios and no word leak of it happening.

Maybe they'll release the real iTunes phone... :D

Could be...

What if it was an exclusive Beatles deal with special edition 5G iPods? They could have Pual get up there and do a little show.

"One more thing..." usually means something more than speed bumps to existing lines.

That looks like a theater curtain to me.

An announcement of new iPods (40GB and 80GB) which can playback stored video via the A/V cables just like iPhoto slideshows.
Oh, and the introduction of the re-branded iTMS : iTunes Media Store

I have a really disturbing analogy in my head of when you dont do a certain something for a long time and then when you do it it is amazing, just think of that with Apple not updating anything in a long time and then releasing the beasts and it ends up being either the best or worst thing ever.
Like when you run out of Cap'n Crunch and your mom keeps forgetting to buy some, then you find an old box of it back in the cupboard and there's just some crumbly bits left, but they are awesome?

Movie Store for sure

I had not anticipated that Apple was ready to launch a movie store, but the red curtains are a giveaway - they suggest a movie theater.

Remember how on the previous invite, the image of a pocket on Jeans was quite a specific reference to the iPod nano - which fits into the picture ticket pocket of a pair of 501s.

The curtains are probably of equal significance.

I hope your right about this, I've been waiting for an upgrade for a long time, my 1st gen 5gb is getting old! ;)

Bring on a higher capacity, longer battery life, slimmer sized ipod!

Vdeo is fine, I can load my digital camera videos along with my pics if nothing else. Don't care all that much about this particular feature though...

Oh, and one more thing - Can you get rid of that ugly grey clickwheel?

It has to be an announcement of something special.. iPod upgrade is something worth of this, but it cant just be 20 more Gb..

The powermac going dual-dual, yes, thats big enough too.

Everything else? Nah, not big enough, except maybe a reintroduction of the Newton (Yeah, baby!). Or maybe both PM's and iPod?

I agree it's got to be a movie store and video iPod. The red curtains...

Damn, I want an Apple tablet.

Please anything but another change to the iPod.

Lets see something new on the Mac side of things for a change.

(secrectly hoping for a widescreen iBook :))

Guess what machine that will be running the presentation. It's not going to be an Intel Mac.

oh man!!!

I got so excited when I saw this update that I almost threw up!! :p

I've been waiting for an update to the pb line so that I can finally switch, maybe that will be the big day (fingers crossed). A 5G ipod doesn't do me any good, cause I just bought the black Nano...unless it plays video..damn Apple and it's tempting ways!!!

I doubt Macs... when was the last time they released new Macs (new products, not updates) and sent invitations to the media, out side of the normal MacWorlds and expos, etc?

They sent an invitation to iLounge, which specializes in iPods stuff... so it's gotta be new iPods.
