a few more things...

think with me ...

oct 12 = apple-event in SF & london.

oct 9 = john lennon 65
october 25 = release of DVD 'the Bangladesh concert'
www.theconcertforbangladesh.com

(I know last 2 things seems like nothing to do with it)

but ... no more Beatles or Lennon in iTunes musicstore ???

Conclusion (?)

One new BIG iPod with full Beatles catalogue with video-capabilities??

my guess is as good as ....euh

Is it just my private Internet :p or www.apple.com/quicktime seems to be preparing for something ? No more content ? Just looked at some european apple sites, too. Same "single-banner layout".

Shouldn't the quicktime page show some links to further content along with shortcuts to trailers, apple events' videos and the likes ?

Maybe related with video and special event ?

maybe I' m just retarded ? :D

I don't think that anyone has mentioned this yet.

How about a revised Powerbook line with built in iSight?

There was a patent application knocking about a few weeks ago and it would tally with the Movie theme.

Yes :( simply a User_Agent control imbedded in the page to redirect to different pages, mac and win oriented. But I've never experienced it from Firefox/Linux (which I use at work) till today  it simply went on the the usual page after loading of the quicktime plugin...

Well, better. It still is new pb this tuesday/wednesday :p

Just pleased that it's just a little over 24 hours until Steve and his "One more thing presentation."

Has it been confirmed that it'll be Steve?

How diappointed will some people be if some minion pokes his head through the curtains in a few hours to introduce the pink nano?

You and me both!!
Last time I sat in front of this LCD for this long was when I battled Halo for a week :D

Be careful, you might end up like that Korean guy who died from playing video games. ;)

Yes, there has been much anticipation surrounding this event. Usually we only see this type of build up for the more major events like MWSF and WWDC, so it's good to see! Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings...

I thought we would have more rumors by now. Apple seems to manage to keep a lid on things latly.
I´m on a plane to Berlin when the show is on, so I´ll miss out the waiting game.
Maybe just as well

:p

"It's the new iThing.... its an attachment for your Mac. It goes into the USB port and you can set the level of vibration though OSX.... there are different sizes available including a version with optional hands-free opertation."

<bangs head on desk and wakes up>

Whoa what a strange dream :D

Apple / BBC Tie-up

This excerpt from Yahoo! News report today :

“The BBC has identified 5.5 billion pounds in additional costs through 2014. Although some can be offset through job cuts and funds from its commercial arm, BBC Worldwide, Thompson said there would be a gap of 1.6 billion pounds that would have to come from licence fee increases.
He is also considering charging money for BBC online content that is accessed abroad.
"We will look at opportunities for monetising all of our services," he said. "If that means partnering with other players including Apple, we'd be willing to consider that."

Apple is holding a media conference this week, and news reports have said it may introduce a version of its popular iPod music player that can display video. The press conference is being simulcast in the BBC's Television Centre.

The BBC is already testing a TV-over-Internet product called iMP, which lets viewers watch the last seven days of BBC programming as a downloaded file on their computers.
The billions in licence fee proceeds make the BBC a dominant force in the UK media sector, with about 40 percent of the television viewership and half of radio listenership. Commercial rivals have long complained that the BBC uses its public subsidy to encroach on their territory.
The fee proposals come at the start of negotiations with the government over the broadcaster's next royal charter which begins in 2007”

the fact that nothing has been leaked suggests one of 2 things; or a paradoxical mixture of the 2

1) This is so huge Apple has slammed the lid well and truly down. paying people to keep shut, keeping it strictly need-to-know or...

2) this is so pathetic that its not worth reporting. ie. nothing more than a Pink Nano.

the mixture could be a Pink Nano that can time travel thanks to a modified G5. no video ability though. the thinking is that you can just travel back to what you want to see. that won't please everybody though. some people just NEED video ;)

Speculation here has run the full spectrum..I see nothing coming out that hasn't been discussed here.

seems that the closer we come to the event the more close to reality get the rumors. the no video part at least is true. the g5 is highly likely (could be the pm079 version). the rest is at least possible if not likely. :D

I still reckon that its going to be the iThing.

How big could that be?? A new form of porn! Mac Porn! Sexy ladies with their Mac Mini's and iThings.... Steve could capture a whole new market by introducing a new service in iTunes called iPorn.

Unfortunately, the fact that this announcement is being simulcast in the UK makes me believe this really is a video iPod - or something that can be used internationally (and why would they do that for a PB upgrage?)...Has apple EVER simulcast a new product announcement in two different countries simultaneously? *sigh* I'm still hoping for that updated PowerBook...

The webcast of the financial report said Apple had some exciting "announcements" ( being plural ) coming tomorrow.

We shall see! Sing with me,

"The sun will come out tomorrow
Tomorrow, betcha bottom dollar that tomorrow, there'll be sun..."

Oh, and by the way. No iTunes new release updates again. Each time that has happened something new and cool was added. Ohhhhh, the Beatles catalog would make me fall off my chair. Hope nobody in the office hears me—tomorrow.

THINK SECRET REVERSAL

Think Secret now reports that tomorrow's event will be the debut of a video iPod afterall.

30GB and 60GB in white and black with video playback at $299 and $399.

one more thing.

The answer was in front of us all the time... apple is going into the drapery business. Tomorrow's announcement will be Apple brand red curtains.
