People taking this as bad news already it seems. :( Why does this have to revolve around flash, it may bring some excellent devs along with it. :)

This is good news IMO.

Some of you guys need to stop drinking the kool-aid. Flash isn't perfect, but it's not as bad as some of you make it out to be. If this announcement is a sign it might end up getting supported, with an app or web browser, who cares? Just because you hate it doesn't mean others shouldn't be able to enjoy it...

Hopefully Flash 10.1 support for iOS is not too far off.

(since the rest of the ENTIRE world is working with Adobe to make it work, and work well on their devices... Apple would be foolish to ignore this out of spite)

It wont happen, Adobe can't code to save their life.

Feast your eyes on this:

I'd say that is a pretty nice design that certainly looks good.

Not bad. Loaded fast.

Just loading the equivalent raw content in HTML/PHP would probably take longer, nevermind fancy effects.

Obviously not built for mobile, but there will be a coming wave of RIA built for mobile and tablets that is powered by Flash (since it will be difficult, if not impossible to do this stuff by hodgepodging together a mesh of other tech)

To be fair, all that "propaganda" has been accurate up until this point. Apple has just become more transparent, they were not this transparent all along, which is what you seem to be implying.

Nope, they have always been the way they are, but once the competition realized they couldn't beat them when it came to smart phones, the propaganda started about Apple. It's an old Microsoft trick: when you can't beat 'em on the playing field, get the media to do your dirty work instead.

My original post was making fun of all those people who post here as if Apple is an evil company (it isn't). They were either trolling for the competition, or genuinely believed what they read in the tech press (never a good idea).

Flash runs like crap on my Mac and everything made using Flash is ugly. Flash developers have no taste I want good looking apps on my phone. Guess you'll caught them by the ugly logos.

Honestly, flash crashes more on my Asus G73 while using Google Chrome. On all my macs it rarely ever crashes.

Maybe I lucked out...

Meh, slow and very hard to actually get content which is what I want to do when I'm on the Internet. I don't care about effects on the Web I need content. Effects and good looking things are good for apps though, but Flash can't bring that there.

You miss the point of why that company has a website that looks and works like it does. That company does not exist to serve content to you. I'm guessing you're not a designer by trade?

OMG - this i am ecstatic about.

I might finally get to make an iPhone app of my own without have to learn 'C'

YIPPEE ::D

You're still going to have to learn 'grammar'!

Seriously?!
Grow up dude, Macs aren't great at running Flash. OSX is not the be all and end all of operating systems! My 2 week old 13" mbp runs flash pretty good, know what runs flash great; my 8 year old Sony desktop with 512MB of ram running XP sp3.
Which is exactly why I am also running Windows 7 on my MBP, which I find to be faster, more intuitive and more compatible with just about everything. Besides windows virus are annoying, Mac virus are just plan scary (autofill).
