Twitter doesn't have to be about what you had for breakfast or what celebrities are up to, and mostly isn't when you're following the right people. It's more about sharing your thoughts on current events, cool links you've found, ideas, having conversations with interesting people who actually have something to say, etc. I hear far more about the mundane details of people's lives on my Facebook news feed than I do on my Twitter.

Are you suggesting that Twitter is as useful and important as the Internet itself ? Do you mean to say that it's even useful in any way ?
It seems like everyone likes to log their inner diolog, but nobody really cares to read the other persons thoughts about the same mundane crap.

most of the NYC government is on twitter. i check the status of the parking rules suspensions via twitter instead of the TV news. same with subway issues, they put everything on twitter every time a train is delayed

i work with a lot of MS software and all the MVP's and some of the developers are on twitter and answer questions. there are a bunch of hash tags for different products and you can post a question and get a response back pretty fast. in the old pre-twitter days you had to call support and spend money

Love the arrogance on some people telling other people how to use the internet.

I love Twitter. Use it everyday. I use to communicate with my friends and coworkers. When I need an answer to a question, I can broadcast it out in Twitter and get a rapid response in about 5 minutes. That's why I find Twitter useful.

But again, the arrogance on some here will still say: Oh it's useless and you're dumb for using it.

To them I say... who made you ruler of the Internet?

A reaction to the recent law suit filed by MS regarding the use of 'App Store'?
Exactly what I was thinking. Claiming the #AppStore tag is a pretty aggressive move. Smart.

Hate to speculate but given that Tim is on Nike's board and the first promotion is for the Nike App, one has to wonder if this is more his decision than Steve's...
