I guess we shall see. Mine has been sitting in ZZ for a couple of days. It's possible it's on the CargoLux flight currently en route to Anchorage.

No - The same thing happened with the previous batch. The delivery exception isn't an event - it seems to just part of this weird large scale deployment. The trip to hong kong isn't a diversion, it's part of the process.
The next batch will follow the same lead, from Hong Kong heading to Anchorage aboard the special Apple charter CPA2084. It isn't regularly scheduled so the next flight won't appear until a flight plan is filed.

It will seem to scan in Anchorage before that flight lands. Then it will depart Anchorage just as that flight leaves for Louisville, and then the "Import Scan" in louisville will happen as the phones are depalletized and individually scanned.
Sure you can speculate all the live long day about this flight, that flight - but everything I assumed would happen with CPA2084 and the timing of the scans after reverse engineering the process came true for the 9/27-10/1 group so - by all means fret about a "delay" and the "phones sitting on a tarmac due to an exception" - but I can confidently assure you the plan is, was, and always has been that these will loiter in Hong Kong until the next CPA2084 flight, and then it'll take off, scans will flow like water, and you'll have your phone in 2 days.
MEANWHILE - Mine left Alaska at Midnight (4am my time), Landed in Louisville at 9AM, was scanned at 2PM, Left at 3:30pm and Landed at JFK NY at 5:30 pm.... 😳
I didn't think that timeframe was possible, but apparently UPS has a direct Louisville->NYC Flight with a travel time of under 2 hours.

The point is, you're gonna bite your nails for days as who-knows-what happens with this weird volume shipment in Hong Kong, then it'll be scanned in Anchorage and things will start moving REAL quick. Everything will be fine.
If you want to keep an eye on something, keep an eye on CPA2084. I'll bet you the new phone
* I'm getting tomorrow the departure scan from Hong Kong is nearly exactly when that flight next takes off.
*not an actual bet, get real. but I'll eat an entire humble pie if i'm wrong.
