Does anybody knows if a signature is required for the package to be delivered or can they leave it in the mailbox?

If you check your shipment notice email from Apple it should indicate.

That said, even if it says "no signature required" it's up to the driver's discretion, and missing $1000 space rocks look bad for them, so many won't leave it.

It's closer......

There's a ZhengZhou to Anchorage (via Hong Kong) flight at 8:20pm ET tonight. I'm hoping that's the flight. My tracking isn't showing on My Choice yet, I can only get it via reference number. I'm hoping for a Friday delivery at this point. My return kit is due in via Fedex on Friday. You'd think they'd ship the return kit with the phone. ie use the same box like they do if you send a phone in for repair. But then again they don't need to save money as the richest company in the world.

No - The same thing happened with the previous batch. The delivery exception isn't an event - it seems to just part of this weird large scale deployment. The trip to hong kong isn't a diversion, it's part of the process.

The next batch will follow the same lead, from Hong Kong heading to Anchorage aboard the special Apple charter CPA2084. It isn't regularly scheduled so the next flight won't appear until a flight plan is filed.
It will seem to scan in Anchorage before that flight lands. Then it will depart Anchorage just as that flight leaves for Louisville, and then the "Import Scan" in louisville will happen as the phones are depalletized and individually scanned.

Sure you can speculate all the live long day about this flight, that flight - but everything I assumed would happen with CPA2084 and the timing of the scans after reverse engineering the process came true for the 9/27-10/1 group so - by all means fret about a "delay" and the "phones sitting on a tarmac due to an exception" - but I can confidently assure you the plan is, was, and always has been that these will loiter in Hong Kong until the next CPA2084 flight, and then it'll take off, scans will flow like water, and you'll have your phone in 2 days.

MEANWHILE - Mine left Alaska at Midnight (4am my time), Landed in Louisville at 9AM, was scanned at 2PM, Left at 3:30pm and Landed at JFK NY at 5:30 pm.... 😳

I didn't think that timeframe was possible, but apparently UPS has a direct Louisville->NYC Flight with a travel time of under 2 hours.

The point is, you're gonna bite your nails for days as who-knows-what happens with this weird volume shipment in Hong Kong, then it'll be scanned in Anchorage and things will start moving REAL quick. Everything will be fine.

If you want to keep an eye on something, keep an eye on CPA2084. I'll bet you the new phone* I'm getting tomorrow the departure scan from Hong Kong is nearly exactly when that flight next takes off.

*not an actual bet, get real. but I'll eat an entire humble pie if i'm wrong.

I'm good with that. I'm not really worrying. I know it'll get here. Probably on Monday like UPS said originally.

It isn't. You'll be on whenever CPA2084 flies next. I assure you.

That would mean you'd have to ship out your retail box - which most people like to keep, and it wouldn't fit right.

Also the return kits aren't subject to import and customs so much cheaper and easier to just do it seperately.

Does anyone know what flight it's going to be for BWI (Baltimore, MD)? I've gotten the departure scan for Louisville, KY around 5:43 pm EST

UPS Seems to only have one daily flight between SDF and BWI arriving at 5:30AM.
More than enough time for you to get your phone tomorrow, mind you.

For people Interested in an easy method of calculating when you should see your iPhone from the date of initial shipping in China— add about 5 or 6 days & that’s the day you’ll receive it.

I received the initial shipping notice on 9/21. It will be delivered tomorrow, 9/26. 21+5= 26. Magic.

If you’re location is more rural, figure 6 days.

It’s stress free. (But these high-anxiety groups are fun to read.)

I have a departure scan from Louisville at 4:15pm, but I can’t find any flights that left for RDU at that time. I’m not worried just wondering how it’s traveling!

Your method is not nearly as fun, totally lacking drama.

I think ur in the wrong group. Most of our phones shipped Sept 21 and we are getting ours tomorrow. We also had delivery dates sept 27-oct1 on our initial purchase.
Seems like your phone may have had a different delivery date. Which is why ur phone shipped yesterday. You will probably get ur phone next week. Sorry bud. Find the chat with the ppl in the same boat as you. Mostly all of us here will be getting off this boat tomorrow with our new phones lol

Mine left Louisville at 4:15. I’m in Raleigh. I can’t find any matching flights. It’s not on a truck, is it? Seems like a long way to drive.

That looks more disdainful than I meant. Trucks are fine. I guess. 🤣

Still waiting for my update after Kentucky. Next stop I believe should be Philadelphia before my local distribution center.

Anyone else in the greater Philly area?

I’m in NC as well too. My wife got her phone last week. Hers went from Louisville to Greensboro with a 9 hr difference. My phone left Louisville at 2:15 which means my phone should arrive in NC within the next hour. Weird that ours didn’t leave at the same time since I live an hr away from you.

Ah, Greensboro! I didn’t think to check that. Thanks!
