OK, I can't be the only person with this question, and to me, it shows a gaping whole in Apple's advertising strategy, normally one of Apple's strengths:

How do I watch these things? What do I need? Are they purchased from iTunes? Do I need a subscription to Apple Music? Do I need an Apple TV device? Can I see them with a Mac? I'm interested in buying them but have no idea where to find them.

The reason for Amazon, Netflix and Hulu's success is their channels are available on every platform. No matter what box you buy or smartTV, you can stream content from all of those places so long as you pay for it.

AppleMusic streaming is not available on Roku, Shield, Google Cast or Amazon Fire, right? Isn't that holding them back?
Apple Music won’t be home for the video content, but your point is well taken. Whether Apple’s video service will be available on devices other than their own is unknown at this point.

You don’t watch them. They haven’t been released yet. When they are released, presumably it will be a new section of the “TV.app” on Apple devices, but we’ll see.

I might actually watch this if it has an architectural and design focus and isn’t just some clone of an HGTV makeover show or just showing off rich celebrity houses.

I’d watch it if it were like the documentary “queen of versailles.” Otherwise, nope.

This sounds like something I’ll watch. I’ve always loved admiring the architecture of beautiful houses. I know it sounds silly, but I have always loved design

Good point...
Apple is working on several other shows in addition to "Home," including a revival of 1985 Steven Spielberg sci-fi series "Amazing Stories
I would love this, as I loved the original, but there is no chance of me paying for an Apple Music sub just for these shows.

Apple is not Netflix, and I doubt they will become them any time soon.

I love Apple products and Apple Music, but so far, none of their exclusives or TV shows sound interesting in the least to me. I like a pretty wide range of content, but their music exclusives seem focused on hip-hop and pop (which I also enjoy... but none of what they’ve put out). There’s a million shows about nice houses out there. Remote homes, urban homes, tiny homes, motor homes, architecturally unique homes...

And now Apple Homes....see how Siri can mess up simple commands. "Hey Siri, turn on the lights" fireplace turns on.

Another thing to stroke the ego of rich celebrities who are out of touch with reality and think we should all care what they think about life, etc. Apple seems to be all about this kind of thing of late.

Yeah, I'll watch "Homes" instead of watching "Jessica Jones" Season 2 or "Black Mirror" season 4… NOT!

This is what happens when Apple VPs are so rich that they have no clue what regular people watch.

If they mainly focus on the construction and architectural design and planning of these Houses, it might be interesting.

Any ideas of how they’d distribute original content?

What I mean is, will they offer it for free to people who own a Mac, iOS device, or Apple TV? Will they bundle it with Apple Music? Will they make it a seperate subscription? Will they charge per episode / show?

I’m actually looking forward to this one as long as the houses aren’t as nouveau rich tacky as most of the ones from most shows. If they show anything by Peter Zumthor, I’m in.

Back before we cut our cable, my wife would watch HGTV for hours. Just saying.
My wife still watches HGTV, Lifetime, and O. That's why you'll notice no negative judgment against any of those networks in original comment. ;) I ain't that crazy. What you see in my comment is 100% unadulterated shade tossed Apple's way for the lack of originality in their original programming attempts. It's honestly hard to watch the level of ineptitude on display from a company that typically makes pretty good successes out of most things they do. Now, understandibly, other opinions may differ from mine. They're absolutely wrong, but they may differ nonetheless.:p:D

If Apple were to build other products outside their ecosystem, it's going to work as great as how Windows iTunes works.

I don't understand given Apple's talents how much they suck at making apps outside their ecosystem. Arguably even their own apps are pretty unremarkable.
