While I won't debate that she does have talent, I fail to see how somebody born, raised, educated and employed in California, who has been a member of the iTunes indie click for years (and has made a lot of coin doing so) is going to present a genuine portrait of poor kids in New York, the only place even more expensive than California. Sorry, but this is JJ Abrams were talking about. Pretty people, lots of money, pretty places, with a good soundtrack. That's what JJ Abrams does.

Yes, because every producer and director only produce films, series, etc., about topics from their own experiences??? No, in truth, 99% of the time, it has nothing to do with their own experience, e.g., Vince Gilligan, producer of one of the best television series of all time, Breaking Bad, actually never was a high school chemistry teacher with cancer or part of the drug cartels or meth underworld, and it turns out that Richard Attenborough, producer of Ghandi, was not an Indian, didn't live there and wasn't a Hindu, and instead lived life as a wealthy Christian in another country.

Apple Sales Inc. run and owned by men. Got it.
Not sure if you got the memo, but in 2007, with the launch of the iPhone, Apple changed its name from Apple Computer, Inc. to Apple Inc. to better reflect its diversified product portfolio.

And Steve Jobs himself announced it on stage!

In my opinion, J.J. Abrams has been instrumental in moving SciFi into popular culture which I think overall has helped the genre. More popularity means more money for SciFi shows.

I'll give you that. He opened the door for far more talented people to do far better work in the genre.

The difference is that Vince Gilligan never claimed BB was an "authentic portrait of methamphetamine users" and Ghandi was a real person with a well documented life. It would be like if you wrote a tv series about a guy who could understand context.

kids in their 20's are too young to have their own "voice".....give em another 10 years and we can start talking.....

Huh? Ghandi was a real person with a well documented life. LOL.

How does JJ find the time to rubber stamp his name on so many projects...

Well considering most of his project lately have been total crap, i think it's safe to say that all he does is come along, work 1 day on a project, stamp his name on it, and then move to a new one.

I promise you both, he does a lot more than that. He's a notorious micromanager who has to answer directly with the head of the studios he's producing for. He somehow finds time to regularly stick his nose into every project his name is on, much to the chagrin of those around him, because despite his frenetic management style, he does value his word, and does not seem satisfied to let his underlings deliver on his personal promises. Whatever you think of the results, he is directly involved with everything he puts his name on. And perhaps that's why so much of it falls short of expectations. There is such a thing as spreading oneself too thin.

Uh, yeah. My (relatively obvious) point is they are not just a sales company.
