Just let me have the ability make an ad-hoc network between my iPad and iPod already without having to get a mobile hotspot involved. Seriously.

Interesting.

So this is very much like iTunes Store Credit we're already used to now. The only difference is, this is done exclusively offline.

I guess when device regains internet connection, the amount would be updated.

This would be only for credit right ? I'd be wary of doing it from a credit card ...

As, for the the "bringing IOS close to proximity to to the Mac" would be great for those who just don't like to configure their device every time, and would also help battery life too.

Does this mean Apple would be looking to NFC for Mac ?

I really do not consider, storing products you may never use taking up space on YOUR device until you pay to watch is, as very inventive! Rather very bad and should NOT be allowed without the user choosing weather to have this service or not! It is NOT up to Apple to use your storage for you

And I think Apple should concentrate on NFC before they do anything else....

How is any of that patentable? They're just specific use cases based on ideas and technologies that already exist and are already in use.

Because it's APPLE and they are special, they can patent what ever they want no questions asked, until after.....

no, but they have been making a mass market push with it for over a year now. It's goofy to be hearing about a patent from a company that has yet to even introduce a product when another big company has it out in the field for some time.

That's always the case with technology. There are patents filed by a number of companies at the same time or at different times. Some companies push products fasts; some don't. I don't even understand what's your point.

I'm Watch iPhone 5 connection problems

Hi all, cant find a thread for this so I thought I'd ask here...

I bought an I'm Watch yesterday http://www.imsmart.com/en?gclid=CPbusubavrYCFQfKtAodOnYAjw

Really nice interface, smooth responsive touch screen and nice design/ features when they work!

However for the watch to work you have to remain tethered by bluetooth to your iPhone. The only way to do this is using personal hotspot, however when you lock your iPhone's screen personal hotspot stops (to save battery I think) and the watch disconnects, so you have to unlock your phone and go to the personal hotspot screen again before the watch will reconnect. This defeats the purpose of the watch because without a tethered bluetooth connection, you cant receive or make calls, or get any messages/notifications.

Does anyone have one of these Watches, who has fixed this issue or does anyone know how to maintain a constant personal hotspot connection even when the screen is locked?

thanks so much for your help

Not the same thing.

Fairly similar. The iPhoto app will recognize iOS devices with the iPhoto app through a shared wifi connection, or through bluetooth. The patent talks about a combination of proximity and communication technologies such as Bluetooth, near field communication (NFC) technology, Wi-Fi, and or a webcam. So fairly similar idea, just I'm guessing it would be for photos, videos, apps, links, songs ect. Rather than any iOS device with iPhoto it would be any device with iOS x.x

Just like Siri did and was something new that everybody copied after.
Everyone copied Siri?

Siri was a third party product that used Nuances speech engine.
It did pretty much the same thing Nuances' Dragon products did.
S-Voice from Samsung is simply a rebranded Nuance product.
Were it not for Nuance, Siri wouldn't exist.

I don't see anywhere that it says that the storage is reserved or used up. I would imagine that they would just use the available free space, but as other apps or data requires space, it will just write over the pre-loaded content. This would maximize efficiency since unused space on your phone is fairly useless.

Why? What if the same things that NFC does could be accomplished without NFC tech? Passbook works great for me for Starbucks, Fandango, and Target. All they need to do is expand the merchant base.

And if this Proximity-Based Media Transfer patent comes to fruition, I don't see any need at all for NFC. Why add to the cost and complexity of the phone if it's not necessary?

Many People are posting complaining about an absence of a new Mac Pro even in threads which may have nothing remotely related to a Mac Professional. At least this Safari is snappier post can sometimes be humorous and can match most threads subject matter.

This is already possible with iTunes and iCloud. You must not have turned on download automatically in your settings in iTunes.

Yes, I'm well aware of automatic downloads, and they are turned on. What I'd like to be able to do is perform my transaction on the iPhone without downloading. Right now what happens is the transaction bombs out saying not enough room
