Of all the things to get outraged over--Apple Pay? Rite Aid is the cheapest drugstore in my neighborhood and they have a great rewards program. I'm not going to pay significantly more just to "show them". Do you think the low paid cashier runs to their manager in tears because you can't use Apple Pay?

Do you value your privacy? Apple Pay brings a new level of security and protection when using your debit/credit card. I, for one, am tired of watching these big corporations be hacked and my information stolen.

If CVS (in my case) is refusing to be pro-consumer and open up their NFC technology, giving me additional protection, then I'll take my business to Walgreens.

It's the same reason why I don't shop at Wal-Mart, it's the principle of the matter. I'm fortunate to have a great job that gives me the ability to pick where and who I give my hard owned money to.

As screwed up as this whole currentC debacle is, you'd think it was being implement by the government. I'm supposed to trust a consortium with a company like Target with my ACH info?? Rofl. Yeah If I go to target I'll just use my credit card which is more secure than currentC, hell I'll use my Amex with their more expensive transaction fees just for the inconvenience.

I was upset when I tried Applr Pay at CVS and it was denied. I just swiped my card but it's annoying that it won't work. I used google wallet with my S III and it was quick and easy. It's whatever, I'll just swipe until all this rival tech gets worked out.

You may not have any need or desire to see a truly secure payment system succeed, but many do - especially those exposed in any of the recent card breaches.

Voting with your dollars is one simple way that, in the aggregate, gets companies to pay attention to your concerns. I will gladly drive past CVS to Walgreens to help make that point. I don't care about the cashier - i want executive management to see a decline in sales coupled with social media outrage, coupled with articles exposing CurrentC for what it is and educating the public. If the cashier passes along the fact that 10 customers today wanted to use Apple Pay to management - maybe was even asked to tally that number - then that's just an incidental bonus.

Shopping at a merchant you prefer - for whatever the reason - is your choice. Quite frankly, that's the whole point, when it comes down to it.

I'll be expressing my discontent for this with my wallet. Already moved all my prescriptions for the family to Rite Aid to Walgreens.
