Unfortunately, Apple Pay Cash requires that iCloud and iMessage are signed into the same account, but unfortunately this is not how I use my devices. Consequently, I can't use this.
I don't really see much need for it either, really, so I can't justify the time it'd take to migrate either iCloud or iMessage to the other account.

Ugh....somewhere along the line I came to believe that you'd be able to instantly transfer money you were sent to a debit card. After trying it out last night, apparently, the only way you can get money (without using the Apple pay card) is a 1-3 business day funds transfer. Not really convenient if you need to get money to another person right away.

Requires two-factor authentication be turned on.

It's been hard enough to avoid it with every OS upgrade. Looks like they're finally going to start withholding features to force us all along.

If you aren't using two-factor then you are a part of the problem, not the solution. That you have to be forced to use something you should have been anxious to use from day one says a lot about your judgement. I'm happy Apple is forcing people to not be silly and I hope other companies follow their example.

If I can send anyone money on PayPal fee free, what is the advantage of Apple Pay Cash? It has a limited audience, right?

You don't need a paypal account on both ends, not everyone has one. This in theory - like most Apple implementations - is simplified for your average user as they don't need to do much to use it

I finally got mine working on both my iPhone X and iPad Pro last night. Now they really need to fix the bug (possibly?) for Apple Heart Study app. I signed up since day one and re-installed the app a couple times, still waiting for their notification.

Stupid P2P Apple Pay (to me). I personally do not want that cash transfer capability configured on my phone.

Yet, the feature turned-on automatically, requiring a manual operation to opt-out.
Is this by design?

Settings > Wallet & Apple-Pay > Apple Pay Cash = OFF
[default = ON]

Default should be OFF.

Part of what problem? I have a strong, unique password. If it gets compromised then only I and my data are effected. If it gets compromised then something went wrong with Apple’s security since you shouldn’t be able to brute force crack my password.

Has anyone been able to confirm who pays the 3% credit card fee? For example, to receive money through Paypal the fees are paid by the receiving party. With Apple Pay cash, if I send someone $20, do I get charged the 3% fee and the receiving party gets the entire $20?

Confirmed it does work now! Yesterday it wouldn't let me send any monies to all of you who asked for some in the other thread.

Well maybe they should make it work better.

I've tried it two different times now and both times lead to major inconveniences forcing me to turn it off.

People finally started doing backups when Apple made Time Machine simple. If they're going to come out with something that makes my life harder then, no, I'm not going to use it.

My two minor children (teenagers aged 14 and 17) have Apple Pay already setup on their iPhones, connected to their own standard bank debit cards (through USAA with Visa logo). Will they be able to use the new Apple Pay Cash feature?

Apple Pay Cash became available on my iPhone last night, I proceeded with setup & approval process for the Apple Pay Cash Card (asked for my SS# and Date of Birth). I read through the terms and conditions and understand the requirements, including having a linked debit card, two-factor authentication, an eligible Apple ID and device, and it says "being 18 years old or older".

Will this be the same setup for them? And if so, will such a “credit check” work using their socials and dates of birth if they are less than 18? If not, could I use my social and DOB to get Apple Cash Pay Cards active on their phones, then just transfer money using their debit cards?

If I pay someone with Credit card, he goes to bank and withdraws, Do I still get points?

Yes but you will be paying 3% to pay with a credit card so the points will probably not worth it.

Not for friends and family

Can you share the source where it says “not for friends and family” because that will be a game changer.

Can I send money to myself if I choose to do it that way. To put something on it.

“Apple Pay Cash allows for quick person-to-person money transfers, much like competing services Square Cash and Venmo.”
Except it’s only for iOS users. Which is really lame! It’s almost 2018, and Apple is rolling out features that are so late to the tech game, and very limited.
