I honestly forgot LA. Just sent them an email and will provide an update if I receive a response.

Not sure about that other article as I didn't write it.
I want to know too! I am literally in LA every other week and use Metro a lot. I would love to not have a TAP card in my wallet anymore and just use my phone.

Will start to roll out in 2020...Great job San Diego. Now fix the actual public tranpsortaion and maybe this functionality will benefit somebody. Trains that don't leave the coast and bus stops that only reach the areas that don't public transit, get your sh*t together MTS.
San Diego users can use Apple Pay now, just via the Compass Cloud app. It is not as intuitive as tapping a reader, but its still Apple Pay.

I do understand what express Transport mode is.
The only thing we want here is to be able to add our transport cards to our phones, but hey, Apple makes less money if they do that. (Instead of paying for a single trip)
.
I think we have to blame the 3rd parties for that, not Apple. Apple already supports adding transit cards in wallet. The transit operators are the ones who still aren't taking full advantage of that support (i.e., Apple already set up Wallet to allow for transit cards, but the transit operators are the ones who haven't set up what they need to set up on their end so that their transit cards can be added to Wallet). It's the same thing that happens with banks and stores: Wallet has support for credit and debit cards, but lots of banks around the world decide to limit the use of Apple Pay to their credit cards only and still don't allow their debit cards to be added. Wallet has also had support for NFC capable loyalty cards for years, but still hardly any of the merchants around the world who have a loyalty card, if any at all, are actually using the functionality (In the US, Walgreens is the only company I know to be doing so, for example). So the problem is with the 3rd parties involved, who still don't use what Apple offers most likely because they don't see much of a profit from doing so.

That's just like using Apple Pay at US restaurants. Instead of tapping, most if not all US restaurants that claim to accept Apple Pay do so through an app. It's not as intuitive as tapping, but it is still Apple Pay.
