All I can state is information from someone who should know and their response is an absolute denial and that there is no interest - ever - to reach a deal if there is a cut of the transaction and/or no access to the NFC chip. Those seem to be the lines that SPK will not cross. But those are also ones that Apple will never (at least in the foreseeable future) cross. The truth is, that those who really are in the know and could put our minds at rest won't say anything very clearly and publicly. Yet from all the information that is out there, if/when Apple Pay does come, SPK won't be part of it anytime soon.
These people in the other forums are riding the bandwagon, trying to get their 5 minutes of fame. We've had some suspects over here as well. There are no indications that Sparkasse is doing anything and up until now they have denied any interest in it. Their public stance has also been very, very sceptical in recent months.
If anyone want's to keep their hopes up, go ahead 😉
I am hopeful on the other hand that Apple Pay is incoming this year. There are the usual journalists to follow on Twitter and some have some very promising background knowledge (which they can't yet fully share).
I don't know who this guy is, who said that to you. And honestly this information that you share with us from this guy is not more or less trustworthy than any other information we hear from the internet. It surprises me, that this guy also makes such "absolute declarations" about this topic. He must to be in a pretty high position, in order to claim that this will absolutely never ever happen.
On the other side, we had the information from Alanin a few weeks ago, who claims the exact opposite. And - of course - the information from the forum:
If you are talking about these comments on iPhone-ticker.de, yes you may be right with the 5 minutes of fame thing. But does somebody who has an account at a forum already since multiple years (I think SynTom's for example is from 2003) just "burns" it from one day to the other, just to get some fame? I don't know.
To be honest, until now we had no indications from any bank at all, that they will launch with Apple Pay. These were also just speculations (from us). And that Sparkasse has denied any interest, like I said, I can't verify this.
All we have is the typical social media "blala" from the banks, we have @holimuk, and we have @Der_Bank_Blog (who btw. was wrong with his Q2 2018 prediction). @holimuk was already wrong last year with his "Wette", so why should he be right this time?
Who else do you know?
To come to the end: I don't know if Apple Pay will come this year and I also don't know if they will come with Sparkasse. It just wonders me, that so many people are talking about Sparkasse and the girocard integration already for weeks and month over and over again, so that I ask me if there is any truth to these rumors?
