I just used this in my local Co-op store. It immediately appeared to work, and showed the amount in the 'Last Transaction' section, with the time 'Just Now'. However, the checkout lady said it hadn't worked - she was very pleasant and patient about it, and asked a senior to come over.
I showed them the phone showing the last transaction, and they said they were happy with that (it was only £3.89 anyway).
But why not just encrypted end to end with the seller?
Been into my local boots and co-op today and no Apple pay decals anywhere on display

So just to avoid potential awkwardness at my corner shop, does Apple Pay work anywhere that accepts contactless payments?
I noticed the same at my local Boots. It will still work though. Did you try it?
This exact same thing happened with me today, hate to say it but I believe you've scammed the Co-op! 😉 I tried 3 seperate times all of which showed as complete followed by showing the amount as if you've paid. I had to get my card out in the end. Called Santander right after and they confirmed that 3 Apple Pay transactions were attempted but not complete. If you go back to your transaction history by tapping on the 'i' on the card you used in Passbook you will notice the transaction isn't there 🙂
Aye I wouldn't really use it on the tube, it's slower than an Oyster and at peak times you'll be causing a lot of annoyance.
hahaSeconded! The only thing I don't like is that I don't get a list of recent transactions.
Probably, though I barely see anyone with a ticket these days!I would say it's still faster than using a ticket tho?
To be honest, so many people irritate me at peak times, it'll be nice to be the irritating onehaha
Walgreens contactless readers have never worked when I've tried using a UK contactless card.Just tried my UK natwest card at Walgreens (official apple pay supporter) and got an error. Maybe it won't work outside of the UK?
Is it one of the stores with the newer Ingenico terminals where the whole system is integrated or one where the contactless reader is separate from the main card machine?I pay with Amex contactless in Nero.
What about other stores?Walgreens contactless readers have never worked when I've tried using a UK contactless card.
My Amex has pretty much worked everywhere else contactless in the US, MasterCard contactless generally works although some retailers (Like McDonalds) will decline newer MasterCard contactless cards. What about other stores?
