Anyone who uses Apple Pay to checkout in the McDonald's iOS app on a Friday in April will have the opportunity to get free Medium fries with their order. The offer for a free side of fries is Apple's latest promotion for Apple Pay, and customers have two more Fridays to take advantage of it: April 20 and April 27.

The McDonald's promotion is valid only with a minimum $1 purchase (excluding tax), is available to each user once per week, and can only be used with Mobile Order & Pay at participating McDonald's. With this feature, customers can place their order in the McDonald's app, pay using Apple Pay during checkout, and then head to their local McDonald's to pick up their food.

The promotional email also touts Apple Pay's support in other fast food restaurants, including KFC, Pizza Hut, and Subway. Within apps, Apple reminds users that they can order ahead in Chipotle, Chick-fil-A, and Jimmy John's. Lastly, the company mentions Apple Pay Cash as a way for users to split lunch orders with friends.

The last few Apple Pay promos offered savings for Adidas and Hotwire, Fanatics, Grubhub and Seamless, TouchTunes, and Fandango.

If you mobile order, does that mean you just sit in your car in the parking lot and they bring it out to you if you don't want to go inside?

I guess I could do that.

Although I probably won't do it on a Friday. Mostly stop at McDonald's during drives on the weekend.

Pathetic! Google gave me a free chromecast just for trying Android Pay. It was okay, but in the end I stopped using it as I'm a cash person.
I still have my chromecast and use it every day.
Pathetic? How so? You feel like you’ve earned more? You’re entitled to it?

Congrats on Google giving you a free tracking device though! 😀

A free Big Mac would have been nice, but we know Apple doesn’t even remember what those are a lot of the time these days.

Used the McDonald's app before, they do give buy one get one free on Quarter Pounders, Big Macs and Egg McMuffins although its often associated with local pro sports teams winning and tied to ordering / buying via the app. They have discounts for other things, free medium fries is often always there.

A $2-ish lunch tomorrow doesn't sound so bad (drink + cheeseburger + free fries). Maybe I'll finally give their mobile ordering thing a shot.
