I think there's only one Cinnabon within a 20 mile radius of my house, but I do get Dominos every now and then! I was wondering when they would add support. Would also be nifty if I could use ApplePay ln the app.

To get people comfortable with apple pay, it has to be in every day places like grocery and gas. Walgreens is a great start. Im sure McDonalds gets alot of use too, But if they get kroger, they get kroger gas stations too. Move the needle with kroger and see a big jump.

I didn't even know Cinnabon as a stand-alone store even still existed! I live in the Boston area and they vacated all our malls like a decade ago!

If it was just about the fees, Walmart would have gone debit/cash only like Arco and a few other places. CurrentC's a thing because it would enable a massive non-consensual data grab, something which NFC wouldn't allow.

I think you risk losing a lot of customers by refusing credit cards. I know I don't go to Arco for that reason. And I have to assume the Walmart demographic isn't entirely flush with cash...

Good then the possibility of NFC pumps someday isn't ruled out.

Isn't it amazing how things based in zero fact or research can be taken so religiously due to fear or assumptions?

The funny thing is that if you go to gas stations in some countries, there's explicitly a ban on cell phone usage. I never understood that until I read this thread.

I get excited about who's going to adapt apple pay next but then disappointed on who they are...... I don't frequent either of those places! ARG!

Chilis is a good start i guess.
I think the moral of this story is, unlike wallets that have come before, Apple is focused on growing this industry and has been expanding every few weeks lately. This time next year may be when we start to see critical mass. It seems like we are starting to see more of a focus on adding locations since the number of banks is significant.

And I have to assume the Walmart demographic isn't entirely flush with cash...

Which makes it less likely one has a credit card. If done right, going debit/cash only might not hurt Walmart much if at all. Most everyone has a debit card anyway, so they'd still get a lot of the benefits accepting cards brings (like increased spending compared to cash and checks).

This is good and all, but we really need to see Apple Pay in subways/metros/buses and other forms of public transportation.
You can in a few of them but it isn't to board the train like in Europe, just to buy the passes.

Chicago I believe lets you Apple Pay directly on the train itself like Europe.

I think this was coming anyway as these stores get EMV readers (chip card) and they played it off as "let's advertise it as we take Apple Pay!!" When the EMV terminals have tap card functionality already.

This seems to be very true for small businesses. They have less budget and manage to implement it.
Large businesses are taking longer.

One of my doctor's offices takes Apple Pay and EMV. Has a single location and one card reader.

My grocery store doesn't take either. 240 stores and probably 3000 readers.

As an owner of a small business, I take Apple Pay and EMV as well, I ordered signage from Apple to state we have Apple Pay, as customers don't even know we do. There is no other obvious signage on the terminal itself that tells customers I accept Apple Pay, so I am hoping these stickers will help.

Does anyone know how I can get Apple Maps to show that I take Apple Pay on my business?

What? I've seen plenty of videos of people using cellphones at gas stations causing fires. Also, all the gas stations in my country have a pretty big sign of "no cellphones"
The spark that jumps off of you when you wear that wool sweater and slide off of the leather seats on a dry day has a greater chance of starting a gas station fire than a cell phone.

It's like the "no cell phones in the ICU" thing. So, this thing that is keeping my son alive is susceptible to a cell phone? What the ...? Something that can be innocently brought into the area can make the machine that I'm paying probably $5/minute to keep him alive has no protection against a stray cell phone signal?

Mythbusters also debunked the "cell phones on the airplane" myth, where the cell signal could disrupt ATC signals.

It may just be the "we better ban anything that may ever cause a problem" culture, rather than a "we better find out if this is really a problem, and then take countermeasures" solutions.

I don't understand why Apple Pay has to be individually implemented by each retailer. If the terminal is NFC-enabled why doesn't Apple Pay work automatically?

I hope this makes Saul's Cinnabon management life easier. He's had some rough times.
Ironically there is no Cinnabon location in Omaha NE. Hmm I wonder if Dominoes franchised locations will get it too as my local one is not company owned.

I was on a date, and we went to the Apple Store after because she was buying EarPods. The checkout guy lectured her for about 10 minutes about how she should set up Apple Pay on her iPhone 6, then she paid with cash. :D
you didn't buy them for her???????? !!!!!
