Apple Pay Users Can Get Free McDonald's Fries With Purchase on Fridays in July

Apple and McDonald's have teamed up to offer free fries every Friday in July.

Today, and on July 19 and July 26, customers can use Apple Pay in the McDonald's app and get free medium fries with a minimum $1 purchase before taxes, excluding any dollar menu items. The promotion is limited to the United States.

This is just one of many Apple Pay promotions that have been offered in recent months.

So what? Datamining in and of itself isn't some sort of evil that some make it out to be. Find a company that doesn't datamine it's customer base and I'll show you a company that's out of business.

But specifically... McDonalds. So what? They learn through aggregating their customer data that offering the McRib once a month every other quarter gets them the best bang for the buck. Ooooooooooooo. Or the figure out through your usage that coupons containing Big Mac's work better than coupons containing Filet O' Fish. The horror. :p:D

I wish my McDonald’s would get a better way for Apple Pay at the drive thru window. Now they have to hand the card terminal out the window and it usually doesn’t work. But maybe that’s the diet gods reminding me that I shouldn’t be eating it.

You can order and pay in the app and choose to pick up in store at the counter.

User error.

You just order AND pay in the app and you just get handed a receipt at the pay window.

Gotta add, will go for lunch occasionally, use the app to order from car before going in to the restroom, then by the time I walk out past the line my food is ready or ready in a minute. It's pretty sweet, although the folks in the line are often wondering how I cut in front of them.

So order in the app and then tell them at the drive thru that I’m picking up an order?
