Doesn't seem like a good deal to me. Fast food is always buy-two-get-one-free... buy a sandwich and a side or drink, and get a side or drink for free.

Don't really understand the negative comments. McDonald's isn't my cup of tea but it's hugely popular. This is something that advances people using Apple Pay, which I would ideally love to use everywhere.

I wish my McDonald’s would get a better way for Apple Pay at the drive thru window. Now they have to hand the card terminal out the window and it usually doesn’t work. But maybe that’s the diet gods reminding me that I shouldn’t be eating it.
She goes thru the McD drive thru at least 2x per week and thinks management is pathetic. Their kids rarely know how to accept an Apple Pay payment, she mostly has to tell them to push some key on the register to activate the terminal, then they have to lean out the window w the terminal and the cord is too short at one McD.

Ok..... but without being an Apple “partner” - anytime use use a coupon from the McD app, even on an Android phone, McDonald’s gets all of the details of your transaction - even when doing a cash payment to a human cashier - by linking the coupons you use to your name, email address, and any other info that you provided during signup and matching it to the stores record of the transaction. They see how often you use the digital coupons and which ones, too. And this is all *without* ApplePay or an iPhone involved. I’ve always wondered the same. Every single apple pay promo that has ever existed has only been available on in app and/or online purchases, but not on in-store purchases from the same merchants partnering with Apple for the promos.Why offer this in the app but not at the register?
