iPad Pro Apple pencil 2 drains iPad Pro battery

Purchased the Pencil 2 this week and seeing a big battery drain when attached. Yesterday after using the pencil very shortly, I attached it to the iPad Pro which had 94% battery left. In the morning the battery drained to 87%. Just got back from work and the battery drained even further to 82%.

Normally the iPad without anything attached drains maybe 1 or 2% max every 2 days.

Anyone else seeing this or is something faulty with my pencil or iPad?

Apple products are having all sorts of issues. The MacBook keyboard having ghost issues. The bending and screen issue with the new iPad Pro. The new intel modems in the new flagship iPhones. The Apple Pencil draining the iPad Pro battery.

The only thing they have going for them is the Apple Watch and iOS 12.

Induction charging is not very efficient and will waste a good bit of your iPad battery if left attached all the time.

Just turn off your ipad when finished. No battery drain at all.
