the end is very slightly off center, anyone else notice this? It's only a few weeks old, I'm wondering if I bent it or maybe it came that way.

Picture?

Also, PencilGa– *mowed down by machine-gun fire*

It's hard to capture on photo. If I ran my fingers up and down where the tip meets the pencil I can feel that it's off center. Also can notice if I rotate it on something.

What about with comparison to a straightedge? That usually makes this sort of thing stand out. Have you tried removing the tip and putting it back on? If it's only a few weeks old and it bugs you enough (which I could definitely understand what with it being a writing utensil), I would go for a replacement.

Is it supposed to be perfectly straight?

That's a good question. I'm assuming the tip is supposed to have some give and play since its pressure sensitive and all.

I did try the tip and the replacement tip. I'll try the straightedge idea for a photo when I get home. It's not anything that will bug me long term, just odd.

I think you can see it in this shot

Gonna resurrect this thread, does anyone have an Apple Pencil that is perfectly straight?

I just got mine as a gift and it’s ever so slightly off Center and gives the illusion it’s bent at the tip.

september 2018.
mine’s definitely crooked.
both tips same way when screwed in.
i can see it when i spin it slowly.
i can feel it when i run my finger by it.

Both my previous and current apple pencils have this issue. I recently visited my Apple store to get a replacement, and it also has the same issue. Looking at the pencils in the store, every one seemed to have the same issue to a greater or lesser degree (even the second generation pencil!). So my current understanding is that no perfectly straight pencil exists.

Hi! I just want to understand, you are saying that this is normal, this much off center?

I saw many in the Apple Store that were similar to your pictures. Some/most were not that off-centre (and a couple were worse!).

My original pencil was a little bit less off-centre than the one you show, and I went in person and there was no problem for getting it replaced. The replacement is also not perfect, but it's significantly better than my first one (you can only really tell by feeling it).

Thank you! Can you tell me if it is ok to use even with this much off center, or it does not work properly? Did they tell you anything about that in the store? I ask because I cannot go to any store right now and i don`t have any other one to compare with.

Mine is perfectly straight. I am ocd about my gadget..
Been using the pencil almost everyday for the past ~13 months
I say take it back to the store..

I've owned 3 Apple Pencil 2s. 2 of them were off center like this at the tip. Replacing the tip helped a little but it always bugged me. Never affected usability. My last Apple Pencil is perfect.
