I already have too many bands. That's why i went for the Blue Series 6 Watch this time because it matches with less colours and stops me from keep buying bands! 😂 It helps that i like the Blue colour as well.

Meanwhile, here is a real Tokyo Olympic Games watch. One of a series Omega is making for the Games.

Picked it up in November 2019, from an Omega store in Tokyo, when the world was a very different place.

I also have an official Seiko from Barcelona (Seiko was the official timing), and Swatches from Atlanta, Sydney, and Athens (Swatch timing, which is part of the same group as Omega), and Omega Seamaster watches from Athens (made for technical officials), Beijing, and London, where Omega was the official timekeeper, and which was the last Games I was involved in. I skipped Rio but was supposed to go to Tokyo- and still might, depending on whether they will allow the usual travel by then.

As a practical matter, when traveling internationally, I wear an Omega on the left wrist set to my home time, and an Apple Watch on the right. Unfortunately, like so many of us, the last time I did that was when returning from Korea and Japan back in March.

I get the fascination with collecting and such, however this picture, personifies the issue with the world as whole. So much waste for one item. Excessiveness to the max! Again, this is not a knock to you. :)

sport bands are my least favorite

If you're referring to the article that started this thread, those are sport loops. Sport bands are 2 piece and IMO, much nicer and worth the asking price. Loops, shouldn't be more than $19.99.

No offense taken. I will point out that this wood and leather box isn’t going to end up in a landfill anytime soon, and the watch itself could last over a century, unlike the typical Apple watch, or just about any other consumer electronic device, which at best might be recycled or more likely, simply discarded five years down the road.

If you want to make a point about waste, pick a better battle.

Fine, AirPods :)

On that, we agree. That (and the Pro) is one item that absolutely should be able to be re-batteried as needed.

Going on a late night rabbit hole, so for anyone who happens to be watching this thread for some reason (or is finding it years after it was posted) here's a fun tidbit!

The sport loops pictured in this article are actually subtly different from the ones we got in 2021, as the unreleased variants have the letters closer together than the released ones. There's also slight variations in the colors for some countries!
