This is genius. I started buying all of my Apple stuff at Best Buy to take advantage of their 12-18 month no interest Best Buy credit card. Not because I need to, but because it’s essentially a free loan. With Apple Card, I’d gladly switch back to buying from Apple retail instead.

I'd be a fan of this. I still use my Apple Rewards Barclaycard for major Apple purchases ($500 and over) since they offer 12-24 months of Same as Cash financing deals a couple of times a year.

Great idea! Here come the holier-than-thou anti-credit posters.
Hey, credit cards are great if you don't pay interest and rack up the points.
I've never understood these people, but I guess being on either side depends on your history and experience with credit. In my life, having my parents and grandparents use credit cards (responsibly) instead or cash, checks, or debit, so it has always made more sense to me to use credit cards. The benefits can far outweigh not using them if you are not carrying a balance. People always like to make a joke of "old people" writing checks in the grocery store and whatnot. I have never in my life seen my grandparents write a check.
Looks like I will be putting that 2020 13” Macbook Pro on my Apple Card
A 14" MBP would be even better.

This would be a serious game changer. I would instantly pull the trigger on the new Mac I’ve had my eyes on for a while now!

Apple Card interest-free financing on all major Apple products would help them sell a lot more premium devices and accessories, especially since the average consumer doesn’t have the cash lying around to buy a new Mac or iPad. It’s kind of a no-brainer.

Federal interest rates are at around 0% so it makes sense for them to introduce this now but even in the future if they have to pay an interest fee they would make up for it with increased sales.

The new MacBook Air would suddenly become $40/month, the 16” MacBook Pro would be more accessible at $100/month, and AirPods Pro would be about $10/month to finance alongside an iPhone.

This would be great, I usually make my purchases at Best Buy due to their 0% financing option, if apple did one that would be great.

I wish they had the yearly trade in deal like with the iphone, but for Apple watch and ipads.

This is a great way for Apple to get more people to purchase their products. This would do well for the Mac line of products, where cost can get prohibitive quickly when compared to the competition. This will also help those who normally would buy an entry-level model due to cost to potentially upgrade into higher specs. Good for Apple and for those who are disciplined with credit.

I'm just waiting for travel rewards to be added to the Apple Card personally.

Please Apple do this. I want a MBP and if it’s 0% for 18/24 months. That’s a win. Also Apple should allow big cash back discount if you make in one payment. With the upcoming recession, this is a win for both sides.

I already have a 2.5% cashback card that I use for almost everything, and an Amazon card which I use for all Amazon purchases. I don't have an Apple card, and didn't see enough extra value to bother getting one, but I buy enough Apple products that I'm somewhat intrigued by the 3% cashback you get for Apple purchases, so I've got a couple of questions for anyone who has one of these:
1) If you buy an iPhone and use the no-interest payment plan, do you still get the 3% cashback, too? Or is it either-or (either get the no-interest loan, or get the 3% cashback but don't get the no-interest loan)?
2) Do you get the 3% cashback on purchases from Apple refurbished store? How about their "Shop for College" (student discount) store?

Edit: Well, I just read the entire article and see that my question #1 was answered. Doh. So you get both the 3% cashback *and* the no-interest loan. That's pretty nice.

Yep. They help you build your credit, and set you up for getting approved for any loans you may need in the future. On top of that, you get various rewards, and they're basically free to use (unless you carry a balance, which just means you're doing it wrong).

Please! At least a physical card...
There is a physical card.

No brainer move for Apple if Goldman Sachs will allow it. With the carrier-based iPhone installment programs, you can basically "subscribe" to having the latest-greatest iPhone. This would provide a similar way to own the latest iPad or Mac every 24 months without paying a penny of interest and reducing the psychological barrier to purchasing outright.

I do not see why you would not. It's an Apple store and an Apple product. Heck, I get the 3% on my iPhone Upgrade Plan monthly payments and those are not even charged to Apple. :)
