I'll believe "bold" when I see it...
What about the 20th anniversary Mac?? Widely panned (and way way over priced), and I think maybe this would have similar outcome unfortunately...https://apple-history.com/anniversary
If they could get rid of the dynamic island completely
I mean I like when it shows info, but otherwise it shouldn't be there. I'm wishing for a hybrid.I hope they won't. The Dynamic Island is incredibly useful for weather alerts and/or football results.
Exactly. Due to Tim Cook's mediocrity and laser-focused goal of giving customers as little as possible in order to maximize profits for shareholders, Apple has been reusing practcially the same design as the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro. The current iPhone 16 should be called iPhone 11sssss, and the iPhone 16 Pro should be called iPhone 11sssss Pro. So in 2027, if Apple wanted to be more honest, they shouldn't use the names iPhone 19 and iPhone 19 Pro. Instead, they should be named iPhone 11ssssssss and iPhone 11ssssssss Pro.
Delivery and rideshare status too. I suppose if all one does is spend time inside apps it's not that useful. Some of us like to multitask on our phones.I hope they won't. The Dynamic Island is incredibly useful for weather alerts and/or football results.
The only iPhone that won’t be able to do anything because Apple Intelligence will think “XXX” is too adult and so censor every last ounce of it. 😂Sets up the 30th anniversary phone to be the iPhone XXX![]()
Could this mean Apple plans to realize former design chief Jony Ive's dream of making an iPhone made entirely of a single plane of glass?
The issue with the the year naming conversion is the devices are released towards the end of the year. So if people buy in the Sep - Dec window is relevant, but come January and it sounds like old news and remains so for the better part of the year. It’s a psychological thing and I can’t see them doing it, unless the release window changes (also unlikely).I agree with the previous suggestion - NAME THEM BY YEAR - today's current iPhone is iPhone 2024; this September is iPhone 2025; and the theoretical folding iPhone will be iPhone Fold 2028 - just don't see it making the 20th anniversary.
Ah sorry just repeated what you wrote as I hadn't seen this yet.Only thing is the timing of their announcements. With them being released 3/4 of the way through the year they’d maybe have to name them after the upcoming year, so 2026 this year.
Unless they changed their release cadence. I must say I *really* miss the summer iPhone launches :/
