And I have used the touchscreen on a windows laptop. We all use our devices differently. I doubt I would use a stylus as my use of touch was not for drawing.

They don’t need to but they might make some adjustments. There is a rumor that they will adjust the layout of elements when those elements are touched. I don’t know how that would work but am curious.
Overall, since touch would not be a primary interaction mode and you still have trackpad and keyboard, you can use touch where appropriate and the trackpad or keyboard for others, particular where touch is too blunt. It doesn’t require major changes to the UI to accommodate such casual use.
Would a MacBook ultra be equipped with an M5/M6 Ultra chip? Is the power consumption of that class of chips appropriate for use in a laptop? I’ve been of the opinion for awhile that Apple ought to bring back a MacBook with a larger screen. If such a product had a footprint similar to that of the old 17” MacBook Pro, it could have nearly an 18” display with smaller bezels. With the existence of the iPhone and iPad, portability of the MacBook Pro is often less important than ever. Most of the time, I find myself using my MacBook Pro in one of just a few places. I’d likely have a MacBook Air to carry with me and an 18” MacBook Pro that spends most of its time connected to a Studio Display on my desk. That allows portability when I need a more powerful computer, and lightweight for the model I carry with me most of the time.
I think touch might be occasionally useful in a product like this, but it is likely of limited value unless the form factor is convertible, which strikes me as less than elegant (and would cannibalize iPad sales). OLED is an improvement in terms of contrast ratio and image quality, although I do have concerns about longevity and burn in. For that reason, MicroLED will likely be the ideal display technology.

…The biggest problems with the Macbook is all three of those things as common thingsz
1) Ultra XDR (Tandem OLED) is the highest end screen tech Apple hasC and that’s not changing.
It only makes sense a Macbook SKU has it to align with the iPad Pro, iPhone, and Vision Pro using OLED. Hopefully a Pro Display Ultra XDzr releases to be used along it.
2) The lack of touch has been an ongoing issue with the MacBook especially among creative Pros
3) You clearly have not used a 16” Macbook Pro across many years to believe that nonsense many wouldn’t appreciate a thinner and lighter Macbook.

Speak for yourself. Prosumer laptops with Nvidia cards and as much ram cost that much for years.
And they’re not even ultrabooks like a Macbook Pro which should be as expensive as they are being that portable
This is completely fine. A clearer segmentation of products will be extremely beneficial for Apple. It will, at least stop all the profound "what’s a pro" discourse here. 😎

Higher price point?! My MacBook Pro order was over $5k already. Not thinking I will be willing to pay over that.. I don’t care how special or not it may be.

Reporting on iPad Pro sales are that they are almost 50% of all iPad sales and leads the line. Understanding that Apple sells 2-3 times more iPads than Macs in a given year, that means, by units, iPad Pros are outselling all Macs put together. I’ll be surprised if Apple introduces an M6 in a Pro Mac with no high selling devices along with it, but we’ll certainly see!
I’m just reminded that Gurman once reported Apple would release a gaming focused device like a Switch or Apple TV with a controller and that there would be an M2 Extreme. In both cases, it was what some folks wanted to hear and got him some attention. Then, when it came time for reality to set it “Oh, well, Apple’s decided not to do that thing that doesn’t make sense.” I’m expecting either an iPad or “Apple has decided to push it back to (unspecified date) because they, ummm, you know… ahhh, HEY look subscribe and you can read what I have to say about those glasses Apple’s most certainly doing!”

We have no idea about keyboard and trackpad. There are very little details.
Personally I think it's gonna be an entirely new device.

Three types of ‘Pro’s’ that use Apple devices; Videographers, Photographers/Graphic Designers, and Coders/Developers.
I know a few in the first two categories, and many in the latter category, and none think a touch screen has a use case in their workflow, and as an aside, they all hated the Touch Bar.
