If you look at positivity rates in states, they’re either cresting or coming down. When the positivity rate starts to come down, cases come down soon after. Why?

It is what it is. An endemic. Here to stay forever. Stop being surprised with things like this.Huh? Does Apple not believe that COVID is peaking again? And of course they won't require vaccinations for those who attend, that would lead to more trouble than benefit.
Let's see how many days it takes before they reverse course.
In a couple more months there will be another variant.Starting up (re-starting) projects and services.... only to have them TEMPORARILY SHUT DOWN is costly and stupid, from a business perspective. COVID Delta is surely going to get worse, before it gets better.
Apple could have easily delayed this "re-start" by a couple more months, when evidence starts to emerge that delta has already peaked.
The fact that US has a lot of these crazy "anti-vax" people makes it worse.

Yep and until people wake up and stop playing into this they will be controlled forever by the never ending variants that have been happening for thousands and thousands of years. In a couple more months there will be another variant.
A few months after that, another one.
Unless we accept the vaccines are not and never will be 100% effective due to both their efficacy against current and future variants combined with those who refuse or cannot be vaccinated, we are going to be in and out of lockdowns/restrictions indefinitely.
Its always a few more months....which buys time for another few months. I am in the UK where delta seems to have peaked hopefully and things are slowly getting back to normal here.

And it’s already cancelled. How’s that working out?Vaccinations don’t really matter in terms of spreading the new variants....
