If this thing has the GX6650, Which I think it might actually have, it will be on par with the K1 GPU.

Imagine like a 1.7-1.8 ghz clocked A8, with the GX6650? ! That would be beast. Maybe Apple also comes out with a "Apple Pen" stylus, the iPhone 6 Plus having that dual window like landscape view of the app will help make iPad apps better too.

Well, we do have this leak:

However, there won't be an iPad Pro until at least early 2015 according to Ming-Chi Kuo. Fingers crossed that this is a Surface Pro competitor or something better, and not just a giant iPad... that would be a disappointment.

Maybe we'll see this thing announced soon at the October event.

I hope it happens and I also hope it has USB3. The problem with this type of leak is my cousin could make it while at work. Any machinist could mill this. Time will tell!

This is further evidence of the unravelling of Apple.

Back in the Steve Jobs era, it was a matter of focus, and producing great products that wowed us. The focus included keeping the color-options to a minimum.

Now, in the Cook era, it's fancy marketing with lots of color options.

Look, I can see that some people like different colors, and I don't begrudge that. BUT, I AM TOTALLY RABID that Apple can't offer an anti-glare, non-mirror matte screen for MacBook Pros, Airs and iMacs like they used to.

Colors are just to appease our penchant for titillation, but I need an anti-glare screen to help me use my computer more effectively. When I hear that Apple can offer fancy color varieties, but can't even offer an anti-glare screen on one Pro model, sorry, but anger rises up against Apple.

You're the minority. If you weren't, Apple would be out of business. There's tons of options through third party for what you're asking. I recommend you seek them out and read reviews before you make a decision.

I purchased a 17" MacBook Pro with Anti-Glare for it's amazing resolution (at the time) and was disgusted with it's image quality as the matte finish greatly reduced everything on the display. Everything was muddy when viewed close. I much prefer the Retina display with it's 75% reduction in glare over the previous model. "Glossy" Retina all the way!

That is pushing the boundaries of innovation!!

Do analyst seriously get paid to come up with this.... When they predicted the touch ID on the iPad, WOW!

I just hope they do not remove the 32GB.... wait another amazing prediction!!!

Responsible service providers offer products and services to large minorities. Being a provider of a computer operating system requires responsibility. People rely on Macs for professional work, e.g. graphic designers, photographers, videographers etc. Many, not all, but many do require anti-glare screens.

Sure, Apple makes more money by tossing the minority under the bus, but where's the responsibility and commitment?

Yeah, Apple never created colorful iPod nanos, a Bondi blue iMac, or ran this ad under Jobs:

Apple is offering 3, THREE whole color options, my gawd sell your AAPL stock immediately, the ship is goin' down!

Yeah, because Steve Jobs never released products with multiple colours...

Some people would definitely prefer the gold (that is, not really gold but gold like on the iPhone) iPad.

Be careful not to use a straw man argument. He didn't say that Apple didn't release colored products. Using lots of colors is something to do when the product is struggling to sell, and some would consider it less suitable for very popular products. I think Steve Jobs was one of those people. The guy you quoted said,

Apple under Steve Jobs had colored iPod touches but no colored iPhones. In fact, only the less popular products came in colors, which included all Macs in the late 90s and early 2000s. They switched to all white once they got popular.

By the way, I claim no opinion of whether or not Apple should release many different colors of their popular products. I just think Steve Jobs would not have done that.

WOW, that's an innovation, bravo Apple!!!
On a serious note... focus on the god damn software for iPad and put more ram in it :p

I don't know who their sources are but I highly doubt someone chose not to buy an iPad because it didn't come in gold. I call BS on that. And why does MR keep referring to it as iPad Air 2? It seems quite unlikely Apple will start adding numbers to iPad naming convention.

Agreed.

iPad Air, 2nd gen.

I cannot imagine that having no "gold-option" hurt the past iPad sales....
IMHO, it's more that, unlike the iPhone, most iPad owners tend to stick to their tablet for a few years.

Having TouchID might help though, because that is a feature people actually like to use.

Adding 2 GB RAM will help some techies over the edge too.

No rumors or leaks of the rMini 2. Are they going to release one ?

I would like to know as well, I'm deciding whether or not to sell my original ipad mini and upgrade to the current retina or wait for the new one if there is any

Agreed.

iPad Air, 2nd gen.

I'm looking forward to when they finally switch to this naming convention for the iPhones.

eg. in 2016, when everyone's waiting for the iPhone 7, they get the iPhone 10th gen instead, and everyone gets really confused. "Where did 8 and 9 go???"

I think Apple should have quit with the "S" after the 3GS, which only made sense because they skipped 2, and went straight to 3G. Also means that every two years everyone gets really disappointed, because "iPhone 4S/5S/6S" doesn't sound nearly as new as "iPhone 5/6/7", and therefore expect the upgrade to be crap.

I hope Apple don't make the same mistake with the iPad.

iPad Air S. *shudder.*

Rather than obnoxious color options, how about RAM options (e.g. 2GB or more)?

Gold color is just a gimmick. Apple needs stop making it thinner; instead they need to put some unique features on it. I want a solid iPad or I'll skip it again. iPad Air was a bad design; that's why it has not been selling very well.

What's bad about the design? If it's not selling well, I'd have thought it was mainly because people don't see a need to upgrade. Adding TouchId might be enough to change that, especially with Watch integration and Apple Pay.

Gold is so tacky. <--- 11 forum pages of gold thrashing right there...

At least that was the general consensus when another tablet manufacturer offered a 'gold' version earlier this year.

Just giving you guys a heads up before you praise this one too much.

Because it looks like garbage when samsung does it. Fanboyish but it's true.

I just need the Space Grey MacBook Air

Yes, but not a silver one painted grey. It will look hideous when it gets scratched.

My old black plastic MB still looks in pretty good shape after all these years and the subsequent aluminium offerings all weathered well because the 'silver' material colour is consistent. You scratch (and you will scratch it...) or damage the case and the colour remains consistent.

Unlike the current processes for giving colour to ipods, ipads etc.

I am happy for a new product which is updated not just on appearance, but performance and innovation. You know something simple like maxing out the ram and HD space in a laptop which has no user upgradable access.... Or at least dispense with the inadequate under-performing basic specifications.

I will just stick a black cover on it, as I do now if I have to.

Rappers like dr Dre love gold, of course Apple must now have everything in gold.

I wish apple would just make pure black iPhones and iPads, none of this space grey bs.

They have realllllly got to increase the base model's storage to 32GB. It's the year 2014, anything else is BEYOND ridiculous at this point. Sticking 2010 era storage in a 2014 "high-end" tablet is unbelievable.

I don't think they'll start from 32GB.
Either they'll keep current prices or skip the 32GB option and jump to 64 like they do with iPhone.

iPod nano wasn't a popular product? Go watch the product intro video of the colored iMacs. Jobs didn't release colored iMacs because the iMac wasn't selling. He released them because consumer feedback said people wanted to choose their own color. I wouldn't consider gray, silver and gold as lots of color options.
