It will probably be 16 64 128 like iPhones. "Entry"

Ipad Pro?, Ipad Air 2?,... => iPad Plus , you're welcome![]()
Yes - offering _one_ more option (totalling three!) is really a lot more than the two options in Jobsian times...Now, in the Cook era, it's fancy marketing with lots of color options.
Your post sounds differently, though.Look, I can see that some people like different colors, and I don't begrudge that.
Don't know about the iMac, but the Air's and Pro's have an optically coated screen for a couple of years now. This may not reduce reflections by 100%, but neither does a primitive matte screen. The latter only diffuses light sources more efficiently, but at the cost of colour brilliance and sharpness. Therefore etching ("matte") is usually considered the "cheap" anti-glare solution.BUT, I AM TOTALLY RABID that Apple can't offer an anti-glare, non-mirror matte screen for MacBook Pros, Airs and iMacs like they used to.
You may want to check your facts before you rant. The Pro models do have an anti-glare screen! Only that Apple opted for the higher quality solution with optical coating. When I hear that Apple can offer fancy color varieties, but can't even offer an anti-glare screen on one Pro model, sorry, but anger rises up against Apple.
This is further evidence of the unravelling of Apple.
Back in the Steve Jobs era, it was a matter of focus, and producing great products that wowed us. The focus included keeping the color-options to a minimum.

Colors are just to appease our penchant for titillation, but I need an anti-glare screen to help me use my computer more effectively. When I hear that Apple can offer fancy color varieties, but can't even offer an anti-glare screen on one Pro model, sorry, but anger rises up against Apple.
Sooo.. A8X, Touch ID and Gold housing.. That's it right? Nothing more for the iPad Air 2?
[Chorus:]
(because I'm tacky)
Wear my belt with suspenders and sandals with my socks
(because I'm tacky)
Got some new gold iPad and lovely rose gold apple watch
(because I'm tacky)
Never let you forget some favor I did for you
(because I'm tacky)
If you're okay with that, then, you might just be tacky, too

I'd rather have features that are useful, like being able to use a non AirPrint printer of my choice without workarounds, the ability to hook up with a portable hard-drive and expansion port.

Why can't you just call it 6th generation iPad?
Gold would be nice, but a true Surface Pro competitor would be even better. 13" with iOS, stylus, split screen multitasking etc... I'm a student who would drop $1k on that without hesitation. It would be like a Surface Pro, except with a mobile operating system and app ecosystem that's actually decent.
Gonna be brutal running a retina HD display with 1 GB RAM on it.
I'd settle for a Gold Master of software that actually works.
