Tried it for a few months but ultimately ditched it. The syncing is often pretty wonky and it didn't work with a few of the custom podcasts I follow that need authentication. In fact, I haven't found any cross-platform app that works with those other than Apple podcasts. The overcast UI looks like its was stuck in the iOS 7 era and left much to be desired and the lack of a proper Mac version was also frustrating.

I disagree with basically all of that - but I respect your opinion and experiences
Hope you find something that works

Cheers

Is there a need for a Mac version of Overcast? Or any podcast client? I find I just use my phone when I listen even if I’m working on my computer. It makes it easier to split functions and control the podcast.

You can run the iPad app on the Mac, but since there isn’t a native one, it’s just not a great experience when I need to access podcasts on my computer. Some of the podcasts I use are videos so I like to split my usage between the iPhone for audio podcasts and iPad/Mac for the others.

Thanks and I hope an option comes along that can cover all of Apple Podcast’s functionalities and does it better. But for now, the built-in one still works the best for me.
