I guess this means no iOS 4.3 on the Feb. 2nd Daily announcement...

what happened to iPhone3,2?

History tells us that apple changes the second number for minor updates:

iPhone1,1 = Original iPhone
iPhone1,2 = iPhone 3G
iPhone2,1 = iPhone 3GS
iPhone3,1 = iPhone 4

I know many people consider 3G to 3GS a minor update, but if you think about the hardware differences, Original iPhone to 3G is what really had the smallest changes. 3G antenna and aGPS. That's it.

I sincerely hope that iPhone3,2 isn't the upcoming summer refresh.

White iPhone?

Who wants to bet theres gonna be a jailbroken update for new VZW iphones on or before the 10th.

Omg, and I thought they were going to stop iOS with 4.21, a new version just blows my mind...

I'm still debating on this release. I was definitely leaning towards a "go" until the 2GB tethering cap was announced.

I currently use a Verizon 3G modem and often go over 2G per month. That cheesy 2G limit is a potential dealbreaker for me. :(

Anyway, I hopt the best for the release and the first adopters.

Never takes more than two pages on these message boards before it turns into a, "my cellular phone carrier is better than yours!" Some of you guys defend these companies like they are your children.
Which is hilarious considering all American mobile operators suck. Year in, year out, the Consumer Reports customer satisfaction surveys show that no carrier can be proud of their scores.

Verizon is a 37" giant in a land of three-foot midgets.

No it just means apple hadn't developed there plans when they Mage the 3G, then later they decided that each new iPhone gen they will change the first number,....

I really doubt 3,2 will be iPhone 5

I think we will get a iphone4,1 and maybe 4,2 for verizon

3,2 isn't the fifth generation iPhone.

3,1 is the GSM iPhone 4 and 3,3 is the CDMA iPhone. From now on, there will be two entries per model--one GSM and one CDMA. If the GSM iPhone 5 was 3,2 that would mean there must be a 3,4 for the CDMA iPhone 5, but there isn't. There is, however, two other entries: 4,1 and 4,2.

There was rumor prior to the release of the iPhone 4, that there were two fourth generation iPhones: one was the actual iPhone 4, while the other was a more 3GS-like backup in case the iPhone 4 wasn't ready on time. If this rumor was true, it's possible that 3,2 was the identifier for this unreleased phone.

Just a thought.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8C148 Safari/6533.18.5)

Perception is that Apple has delivered a bug-free phone for Verizion. If I was a betting person, I'd go with the same number of dropped calls as Big T.

You think dropped calls are caused by bugs in the iPhone software? Other members of my family who use other phones have the exact same issues on AT&T. It also wouldn't explain why these issues are far worse in areas where AT&T is known to have extremely poor service, like NYC.

Most of my friends are on VZW, and they get coverage in many places I don't. I get no signal at all in my friend's house, while he gets 3-4 bars on VZW.

If Apple holds true to form here, they will let existing users download the 4.2.6 update prior to the Verizon launch to get much of that download traffic out of the way before the new phone is released. iOS upgrades were available to existing iPhone owners prior to both iPhone 3Gs and iPhone 4 releases.

It seems more of the 32gb capacity has been lost than on the original ip4 down to 27gb from the 29gb mine shows available

can i buy the "verizon" iphone and use it with a different carrier?
by the way i live in europe and have no idea how the us network is like. but some info would be nice anyway

If they support CDMA, then yes. However as far as we know, it's locked. So you'd have to unlock it and then hope that a CDMA carrier will allow it on their network.

For the past two years, I've been a big user of AT&T's "Mark the Spot" app. Since that time, the reception near my house has gone from one bar of Edge to a solid three bars of 3G. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but I'd like to think that AT&T is actually listening and trying to improve their network. And now that Verizon has the iPhone, AT&T has even more incentive to make sure their network is solid. Competition can be a good thing.

I know that AT&T used that app to help them better their network. In your case you got another tower go live to help you out and who ever else lives in that spot. AT&T need to keep improving there network. I want to know what there 4G service is that I seen advertised on TV the other day.
