It's kinda big for uploading ...

Code:
[23:45] nightowl:/<2>Downloads/Steve Jobs rememberance % ls -lh Steve\ Jobs\ rememberance.540p.AAC.ts

Many thanks, man. Great effort! :)

Ah, that was such a amazing memorial for such a amazing individual. The coldplay part was amazing as well, and the last song of the set, ( does anyone know what that song is?) was such a culminating moment. It was I think, only knowing Steve from second hand accounts, something he would have wanted in a memorial. Something not soddy and sad, but something happy.

Yup, same here. No premium account.

Please could some kind soul upload this to a torrent?

Failing that, Tim Cook, Please allow me to watch this on my AppleTV.

:)

I think Apple is in very safe hands. I didn't know much of Jony and Tim prior to watching this but I'm a lot more reassured now that the company has a very bright future ahead of it. A fitting tribute to his life.

(Edit: Ugh - do you really need to convert links to "api.viglink.com" click-throughts, Mac Rumors?!? Here is the actual link content - http:// + qthttp.apple.com.edgesuite.net/11ajdjnvkjnd10weoihf23ohfoihqw/2540/prog_index.m3u8 - if you want to copy & paste. Just remove the " + ".)

Hi, can you tell me the procedure to get the 400+ files down? Which app do you use? I am happy to mux them together but I need to download them first?

c+p the above link just gives me a 12kb download.

Also, I believe .ts files can be handled by handbrake to make .m4v?

Thanks in advance

My favorite part:

When we used to travel together, we would check in, and I would go up to my room and leave my bags very neatly by the door and I wouldn't unpack. I would go sit on the bed next to the phone and I would wait for the inevitable phone call "hey Jony this hotel sucks lets go." -Jony Ive.

Yeah that was a great story, so amazing to get just a handful of snippets of insight into what it was really like to know and work with Steve. So glad that, as I expected, Apple realised that we all needed to see some of the event as well. The thread we had debating that got ugly - and after all that effort, I think we can ALL be happy now.

I was kind of surprised at how upbeat Chris Martin was - I felt it didn't mesh so well with the rest of the event. I guess he was all about looking forward, but "have a great day" just didn't sit right with me, and neither did the way he seemed to treat it like just a normal concert; I was half expecting him to try to plug the new album!

... But that could all just be for my wishing that they had played more old stuff - Trouble would have been a nice tempo, and perhaps Everything's Not Lost. Clear, not a fan of their new direction, but that's beside the point.

One more time, thanks Steve, and thanks Apple for letting us in.

Powerful stuff - very moving. Great speeches and fantastic singing particularly by Nora Jones. I hope the audio from that performance is available on iTunes.

Great job by Tim to hold his emotions together as well as he did. You could see he was struggling at times.

Jony Ive was inspirational - I've sometimes in the past felt that he tried too hard to be passionate and insightful but this was from the heart for sure and very convincing. I think the key to it was injecting a bit of humour and humanity. Based on this, I would be happy for him to feature more prominently in future keynotes and perhaps even take the lead alongside Tim. I think Tim should still be the MC and announce the facts and figures but Jony should announce new products from the conceptual/design/creative perspective with the usual team of Scott and Eddie etc coming in for demos and more in depth details.

Thanks to Apple and Tim for sharing this with us.

Agree with this 100%. Tim should introduce the keynotes first and then once it's time to introduce a new product, ask Jony to come on stage and talk about it/show it off/demo it. Then have the various people talk about the OS features etc and then finish with Tim coming back on to talk about prices etc etc.

You can paste the following line into Terminal:
Code:
for i in {0..486}; do curl -O "http://qthttp.apple.com.edgesuite.net/11ajdjnvkjnd10weoihf23ohfoihqw/2540/fileSequence$i.ts"; done

Be warned, that it will download 400+ number of files in the directory you are in. So first you probably want to create a temp directory, then execute the command above within there.

By the way, how do you mux the files together? Which software can mux .ts files under OS X?

Thank you for clearing that up.

Seriously though, having common sense would have cleared it up for you.

Jonny Ive was pure class. That guy should've been the CEO.

There are a total of 487 files, and they are about 10 seconds a pop. So has anyone figured out a clean and nice way to stitch them together yet?
